John

I'm aware that Saul is prone to hanging around on the waterfront practising his Marlon Brando impression, but I'm a bit worried when you reveal yourself to be a contender.

Actually, I'm being spoiled rotten on the cooking front at the moment; I haven't nuked anything in the microwave since the Offspring arrived back from New York.

And I'm hoping to get the hang of frozen margaritas; the trouble is that the sampling process seems to impair the manufacturing...

Hi Chenier,
Well, they say you face is your fortune........and speaking very casual English may actually make some of the masses identify with him.
I knew a chef in London who told me that he had trained at the same cooking school as Jamie Oliver and that Jamie wasn't a particularly brilliant student.
He did however, have a mum who had contacts with people in television programming and this was how Jamie Oliver got his original leg-up and his own cooking program on British TV.
What next "The World of cooking by Frank Bruno?"

Well, youa no dat deez fings are called Bananas, Harry.....you knowa iff I ya et more of dem I coulda beeen World Champ...................deez bananas are a knockout Harry, doya no wot I meen?

The last time I watched TV in England, I was struck by the number of cooking ,antique, quiz shows, comedy programs that were continually being fed to the viewers. There seemed to me, to be a real lack of original ideas to entertain the public, and that standards had actually dropped.
Jamie Oliver? Well, he has certainly become well-known in the UK , and, some other countries around the world also show him briefly on TV. I can't really measure his cooking skills although he certainly does appear to have talents in that area. What I notice about Jamie however, is his ability to speak the English language.
If at cooking he might get a B+........when it comes to speaking English he'd be lucky to be given a C minus ! He needs lessons to improve his very casual speaking of the language, because he won't win any medals in that area!

Actually - Jamie Oliver has brought food to our attention in a way that chefs before him never did.

At least we think about what to feed the next generation of prodigies, worker bees. layabouts and politicians on!

He also made me give up Marks and Spencers for Sainsbury's - and I am not happy about that to be honest because I missed their ready-made mashed potato - and through that I think that he is responsible for my being so fucking grumpy a lot of the time.

I may have to sue Jamie for this as I have lost my sense of reason. In fact I am going to ring my lawyer right now. He had better not be in Rothley again. Every bloody top lawyer seems to have to be in bloody Rothley at some point in their week nowadays.
