No-one seemed to really notice until her grandfather walked into a Tel Aviv police station two weeks ago and confessed to her murder.
No-one? Subtext: Sky News didn’t notice.
Recounting his actions, Ronny Ron told police he got angry with Rose during a car journey and hit her. After he struck her and did not hear any sounds he realised she was dead. In his panic, he claims to have stuffed her body into a suitcase and thrown it into a river. Speaking in court, he called her death a ‘tragic mistake’.
So Israel’s Maddie is similar to our Maddie because..? And do bear in mind that none of our Maddie’s family members are accused of any hand in her disappearance. Indeed, Kate and Gerry McCann have been cleared. so too has Robert Murat. Sky commented on him…
“I have handled many investigations,” said the Israeli district police commander on Israeli radio. “But I can not recall a single other investigation that turned all our stomachs, that all of us come out of the investigation briefings with tears in their eyes.”
No, not our Maddie, but their Maddie…

Portimao is less than 25 miles from Praia da Luz, where Maddie vanished in May last year just before her fourth birthday.
Praia da Luz is the Bermuda Triangle for missing kidz. Fact!
The Sun understands the mum had been urged by a doctor to avoid drink on holiday as she was on medication to combat alcohol-related problems and depression.
How very understanding…
But she ignored the advice, went out boozing and ended up needing hospital treatment.

Police handed her frightened daughter to a temporary care home in Faro. After being assessed there she was transferred to a children’s home in nearby Loule.
A Portuguese children’s home…. Noooooo!

I am just amazed at how little interest in the whole business the British Home Office was when Portugal were asking for letters and results - That to me stinks !
Also - when can anyone remember anything like this circus that was in place within hours - in relation to any other missing child ever ?
Something about the McCanns does not ring true - They must realise this - they have panic buttons in their house - for Gods sake.
Notice we hear nothing now that they cannot hide behind Arguido Status - No Press Conferences - No campaigns - No appeals - and recently no word of Pinkie.
They really owe it to the generous people who pledged money - in good faith - to at least keep those people informed what their money is being used for !
I hope if they turn up at that film premier with AJ - that someone has the guts to ask a pertinent question - to put them on the spot !!

Agreed. I just don’t get it. Surely finding out what happened to Madeleine is the most important thing. And unfortunately family members are very often at the heart of child neglect/abuse etc.

being blamed for something and being arrested are very different things surely?
Madeleine’s parents admit to leaving their very young children alone. They were not forced to do this. They had the option of babysitting services, which they chose not to use. So they are - like it or not - partly to BLAME for their daughter’s disapearance.
Please please let me know how you know so definitely that they had no further part to play in her disappearance.
I thought the situation at present is that no one knows what happened - and that leaves everyone in the world a possible (although not official) suspect…..

not talking about the beginning, talking about the one that the PJ did want to run - to try to sort out all the differing timelines.
Saw a documentary last night on Irish TV which quoted statements from the Tapas 7 that claimed they were too worried about being arrested to return to do a reconstruction….
(Can fully appreciate the McCanns wanting to do a reconstruction in the beginning - would it have featured jemmied shutters I wonder!)

Anorak - would love to know where the notion of ‘Indeed, Kate and Gerry McCann have been cleared’ cones from.
My understanding is that there is not enough evidence to keep them as arguidoes - that surely, is rather different from saying they are ‘cleared’…..or am I missing the irony?

Crimewatch use reconstructions all the time.
Presumably because they help jog people’s memories and help solve crimes.
If my child had been abducted I would welcome a reconstruction - as it could help solve the crime.
Can’t understand why the whole of Team McC were against a reconstruction.
Could it be because such a reconstruction would not help at all or worse still confirm that all the inconsistencies in the various statements are because there was in fact no abduction.

Marie Nicholas, no I wasn’t implying you are anti-British, more in hope than expectation perhaps I still think enquiries are going on in the UK. If there were any doubts about the Madeleine Fund (and I’m not saying there are) the English authorities would have a procedure open to them that is probably far more straightforward than any in Portugal. Well I’ve been shopping today around the Sales, so unless Gandolf or Garth bought a grey fitted jacket in Dorothy Perkins for £15 and got a pair of brown cargo pants free (buy one get one free), and then went to Next and bought a top (fuschia and black) neutral handbag and grey and white striped blouse I’m not them.

the PJ suspected the parents very soon, maybe the same day already.
They were investigating without telling what they suspected.
And they were also considering abduction.
But the British pressure was too heavy.
Even Brown got involved in it.
Someday we will know the truth. Too many people (at least 9 or even 10) know it and in this case it is not a secret anymore.
