Sarah Palin: John McCain Endorses Levi Johnston
SARAH Palin Watch: Anorak’s look at Sarah Palin in the news…
Yesterday the tabloids looked just past Sarah Palin’s moose ears and talked about her daughter, two-wombs Bristol. Today the broadsheets notice the pregnant teen, and the BBC just stares…
BBC: Main story – she reacted to her critics with “all guns blazing”. Is that a pun? Does she shoot hawks or doves?
Says BBC Breakfast’s Louise Minchin - who addresses viewers in the manner of a primary school teacher bringing out the big felt tips – “she hit back at her commentators in the press”.
Not just the press, Minchin. What Palin said was:
“But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country.”
Not the “press”, but reporters and commentators, like those employed by the, er, BBC…
But that of the real story – what of Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter, the pregnant one, who hasn’t already got a child? What about Bristol?
THE TIMES (front page): “Meet the parents-to-be: the new Republican family.”
It’s Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston – “the self-styled redneck” – shaking hands with John McCain.
The front-page news is that Johnston “declares in his Facebook entry that he does not want to have children”.
More US political baby news on page 36 and 37.
The INDEPENDENT (front page): “Meet the parents”
“Sarah Palin…watches as her daughter Bristol’s boyfriend, Levi Johnston…is greeted by John McCain as she arrives in Minnesota for the Republican convention. Bristol… is expecting a baby”
More US political baby news on pages 20—23.
FINANCIAL TIMES (front page): “Family ties – McCain embraces Palin”
“John McCain…greets the family of vice-president running mate, Sarah Plain… Mr McCain made a point of talking to Levi Johnston, boyfriend of Ms Palin’s pregnant teenage daughter, Bristol”
More US political baby news on pages 6 and 10…
Vote Sarah Palin - for better headlines…

StoildUgly Says: “a MUSLIM name … sounds a lot like TERRORISM”. I expect it does to the ignorant. No surprise they’re voting REPUBLICAN.
No religion or idelology has a monopoly on venality. Ever heard of Dresden, Hiroshima or Stalingrad? The murder of nuns in El Salvador, secret wars in Indochina, the tanks in Prague? Pretty terroristic, all.
There’s an old saying: treason never prospers; for if it prosper, who dare call it treason? Same for terrorism, I guess.

to stoildugly & others of similar ilk…if you were of sufficient age and intellect to fully grasp what the republicans r e a l l y have stood for since the semenal moment of thier existance, you would not have made your statement regarding your steadfast decision to vote based on a candidate’s name alone! wonder if the name YOU were “born with” might indicate your capabilities and qualifications? I suppose you don’t think that john mccain, ( like harry truman) needs anger management counseling. Do you really want a hothead & his moose-eared doe-eyed, clueless about national issues,
screws the state she purports to “govern” for per diem& travel expenses while at home, has verbal vapor lock in the absence of a tele-prompter, lies about selling aircraft on e-bay, menopausal ,has no control over her daughter’s raging hormones, one carcinoma away from the presidency, to continue the bush debacle??? What about the rational behind your intended vote is even a modicum smarter
than a fifth grader???

Palin needs to focus on family first. Her daughter got pregnant because Mommie didn’t pay attention to what was happening around her. This is not someone I want watching over my country…keep the apron on and throw condoms in your kids pockets.

But surely McCain would not wish to be a one-term President?
It hardly seems worth the bother…

I’m sure she’s a wonderful person, but 2112?
Is this some kind of immortality serum?
