Madeleine McCann: When The Sniffer Dogs Barked And Casey Anthony
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
THE SUN (front page): “BARKING – The moment Maddie cops say dog made McCanns ‘suspects’
No, not the tabloid dog pack. There’s a picture of a spaniel crawling on a sofa. To its rear is a man. There is a pair of blue drapes, open.
And another picture of a dog, which may be same dog. The caption:
Howl … pooch alerts handler to ‘evidence’ found in the parents’ rented motor
Pages 4 and 5: “HOUNDING OF THE McCANNS”
THESE were the scenes as two police sniffer dogs investigated the disappearance of little Madeleine McCann — and left her shell-shocked parents wrongly in the frame.
You can never trust a dog, much less a Portuguese dog…
The 2½-hour film, shot on a police camcorder, chronicles the work of two specially-trained British sniffer dogs.
It was the British all along, friendly fire, blue on blue disaster…
It details the moments when the springer spaniels apparently detected:
Barking … the moment Maddie cops say dog made McCanns ’suspects’
The scent of a dead body in the McCanns’ rented Renault Scenic, hired 25 days after Maddie vanished shortly before her fourth birthday in May 2007
An aroma of blood in a bedroom cupboard in the family’s Praia da Luz holiday apartment, and
A smell of death on Kate’s clothes.
Good of the Sun to repeat all the apparent speculation again. And tell us that – hold that apology to the Portuguese, the dog handler was one of them, a Portuguese…
Eddie is first to be taken into the two-bed apartment and spends nearly 30 minutes sniffing around. He barks twice — once in a bedroom and once at a spot behind a sofa underneath a living room window.
Woof! Woof!
Martin says: “As soon as I came in the dog is very excited. From his body language it would appear he has picked up a scent that he recognises. There is enough scent there for him to give me a bark indication.”
Woof!
After Eddie leaves the apartment, Martin takes in Keela. She can be seen freezing — a sign she has found something — underneath the window where Eddie had earlier barked.
And..?
Martin says on camera: “The crime scene dog has given me a positive indication. That indicates to me there is some human blood there. She will detect blood that is very old and find anybody’s blood.”
Not a blood hound – a spaniel…
While Portuguese cops carried out DNA tests on “fluids” found in the flat, it has never been revealed if any blood was found.
And the British at the forensic lab in Birmingham, don’t forget them…
Detectives also asked Martin to use his dogs on the McCanns’ hire car.
Oh, yes, the Renault Scenic…
Eddie is seen barking at the driver’s door before standing still in the boot, then scrabbling in one corner. Martin says: “We had a reaction from the dog. The scent is coming out of the sealed door.”
RINGSIDE REPORT (US): “More Charges For Caylee’s mom”
An online boxing magazine delivers the news with punch. Ding! Ding!
Every time a child disappears, it must be taken seriously. For months, we have been awaiting for good news of British girl Madeleine McCann, the four year old princess who disappeared in Portugal. Now, it turns out, the United States has an even worse case at hand, that of Caylee Anthony, a 3 year old angel who mysteriously disappeared from Florida and whom police investigations point out to be a likely murder victim.
Seconds out!
Number one, if Casey Anthony is involved in her daughter’s disappearance, all she deserves is 12 rounds with Lennox Lewis, after having people completely tie her up to a corner. Number two, we are all praying at RSR so that the first thing the grandmother said becomes a reality, and Caylee is found alive, as well as Madeleine McCann.
Lennox beats up women, Lennox beats up women, la-la-la-la…

The Cortes send them a very contundant NO and fuck off…..they were NOT keen at all to have ANYTHING to do with the mccanIVF,believe me.

Now,I will nOT extend thre subject over Mari Luz death but do you really believe what a paedo and THIS paedo has done? I dont and even less in Mari Luz case.First hand info. The publicity over Mari Luz I repeat, killed her as much as it would for Ms case,OBVIOUSLY.I also repeat that yes generally, child abusers are close to their victims in terms of parenting and others……As Brandon was saying it was an other of their foul manipulations to make money out of yet an OTHER little child.
They simply disgust me and not only, thats for sure
I know -and again obviously not only me - Mari Luz disappearance just came “a propos” for the mccGits and they try to grab the opportunity to make Mari Luz case THEIRS .
They miserably failed…..thats all what I can say, please, dont ask for more: I wont answer.
Their fall has started and they will never reach the bottom less pitch they have created for themselves, they”ll drown in their own shit….with MY help
Their additional shame is to drag 2 innocent little children in their fall, the twins, who are by now totally traumatised
They are pathetic human beings

Babies are new target
Met warns as paedophile threat spirals
Children too young to speak are increasingly being targeted by sex offenders - and members of the professions are among those trawling the net for images. In the week Gary Glitter returns, police say the scale of the threat is ‘massive’
* Mark Townsend, crime correspondent

Paedophiles are increasingly targeting babies and children too young to speak in an orchestrated strategy to avoid being caught, police have revealed.
The disturbing revelation came as Scotland Yard warned that the threat facing society from child abuse is far graver than previously assumed, with ‘huge’ numbers of paedophiles scouring the internet for potential victims.
As the furore over the arrival of paedophile Gary Glitter rumbled on last night, detectives from Britain’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) revealed that they were uncovering growing evidence that paedophiles were concentrating on ‘pre-verbal’ victims.
CEOP spokesman Vicky Gillings said officers were finding an increasing number of images, many showing the raping of babies, involving youngsters whose inability to describe their abuse made them attractive to paedophiles.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Stevens, head of the Metropolitan Police’s paedophile unit, said: ‘There are huge numbers of paedophiles online, surfing the net and looking for child abuse images, at any one time.
‘The problem is far, far larger than anyone is aware of. Ten years ago the Metropolitan Police seized perhaps a few thousand images a year. Now you’re talking millions.’ He added that the middle classes had to start accepting that large numbers of paedophiles came from professional backgrounds. Last Friday Martin Hatcher, 46, an NHS scientist from Exeter, was jailed for downloading more than 270,000 child abuse pictures.
With the true scale of paedophilia in Britain impossible to quantify, Jim Warnock, head of operations at the CEOP, said hundreds of online paedophile networks had yet to be uncovered and that such was the size of the problem that as many as one in six children - 1.9 million - might be a victim of abuse. Detectives describe the 30,000 Britons currently on the sex offenders register as the tip of the iceberg.

I am not saying you know but you insist so much in saying it was a paedo …..AND generally this kind of “persons” KNOWS their victim, they are close to them ……acquainted to them ( by blood or not)
What I was asking is : do you suspect anyone close to Madeleine?
___________
Jo, ‘generally’ is a far cry from all of them knowing the victim. Many cases over here, Jo, where it is just a paedo on the prowl for a victim and grabs the one they focus on.

About the six cadaver thingys clueless, any link. You do know that the dog that alluded to KM has been shown to have probably been sniffing something else.

We will never know for sure. But IMO it was very selfish to use another missing childs image without her parents permission to aid publicity for their own fund.
Can you imagine the FURY if someone had done it to them ?
___________
Come off it, BF, the paedo admitted himself she fell and the fall killed her.
Honestly, I can’t imagine the McCanns fury if someone used their missing daughter’s picture along with their missing child’s picture. In fact, I can’t imagine any normal, truly loving, distraught parent whose child is missing being upset if someone else also puts their missing child’s picture out with their missing child. But then it takes all kinds to make the world go round!

apart from some confusion in the fund’s management, we fail to understand:
- Why is none of the companies able to at least “show some service done”?
- Why were these companies never called Maddie “predators”?
- Why was Mr Brian Kennedy angry and closed the faucet on these gentlemen?
- And finally, even stranger, why is Mr Clarence Mitchell silent???
Other flies are surely preparing to wake up.

Pompous waffling to follow just as soon as I can think of some alliterative replacement for “waffling”. “Professor Pam’s Pompous Pancaking” doesn’t have quite the same oomph, even though it is perhaps a more accurate description of my deflation of this, um, “evidence.” It also lacks the suspicious Belgian undercurrent of the original.
I’m sure Bozo will have another suggestion. (*Hint: Look for the one word in the post that starts with “P” instead of “F”.)
Perhaps you’ll offer a better word for “bias” as well. I don’t think at all that the handler meant to frame the McCann’s, or even that the handler necessarily felt they were involved, but one of the reasons canine “evidence” is treated so gingerly is that there is an issue of paradoxical confidence: while their handlers generally believe their animals are highly accurate, their eagerness to demonstrate this validity often leads them to skew searches–intentionally or not. An example might be, say, when a dog ignores an area to be searched, in favor of some other interesting scent, but is led or called back to the desired area, as I have, um, rationally observed.
In fairness to these handlers, I do believe that they acknowledged various “efficacy” issues at the time, and I’m sure we all–pros, cons, anarchists, and dog handlers–agree that the whole thing would have had much more credibility had it been carried out when the dogs’ services were first offered.

Ola, if it is true that Eddie signalled on some trousers and a blouse belonging to KM, and assuming Mr Amaral’s theory, would it not have been so easy for KM to have destroyed/hidden these items long before Eddie’s visit?
September 5th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
Yes, Real Stig, I already know what you mean. And the Clever Hans effect is really interesting. It’s a bit like the Placebo effect.
September 5th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
And they sniffed out several cars, too. Only found the odour in one car.
September 5th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
Baby Jane
There was a cadaver dog handler in the US who ‘planted’ scents. She was eventually caught.
The Clever Hans effect does not require that the handler consciously seeks to deceive, the signs they give can be completely unintentional and without their being aware they are doing it
September 5th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
in total the dog sniffed out ten cars………. cadaver odour was only found in one
