It’s a metaphore for the credit crunch
Oh. On closer examination it actually is a double plug socket. No wonder the money kept burning.
Not as contradictory as it seems. I have one of those miniature wall safes disguised as a twin plug socket at home and that thing is a bloody menace. It keeps giving me shocks every time I put money in it.
