Madeleine McCann: Looking For 1 Million, Raonaid Murray And Amaral’s Book
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
DAILY MIRROR (front page): “WE’VE SPENT £1M HUNTING FOR MADDIE.”
Kate and Gerry McCann Exclusive: We’ve spent £1m hunting Maddy - EXCLUSIVE McCanns vow to keep searching
THE SUN: “McCanns spend £1m on Maddie search” - Not exclusive.
THE MIRROR: “The couple have shielded the twins from what few facts are known about Madeleine’s disappearance in May last year.”
A few facts? There is only one fact: a child disappeared.
Gerry revealed: “They realise Madeleine is not here but they don’t know the details.”
What details?
DAILY MAIL: “Kate McCann: We’ve spent £1m trying to find Madeleine”
Speaking about their spending on the search for Madeleine, Kate said: ‘It’s a lot of money but we can’t set a limit. A child does not have a price. We will pay what we have to.”
A child might have a price. Isn’t that part of the fear?
DAILY EXPRESS: “KATE’S FURY AT DETECTIVE WHO PUBLISHED BOOK ON MADELEINE”
Fury. Always the fury.
KATE McCann has broken her dignified silence to attack the Portuguese detective who led the bungled hunt for Madeleine. She slated Goncalo Amaral for failing to find her little girl and for trying to cash in on the tragedy by writing a book
Tsk! Writing on the McCann saga for profit. The Express (10p cheaper than the Mail) is right to be outraged. What scum would do such a thing..?
As for Kate’s fury…
Says Kate McCann in Expresso, a Portuguese newspaper: “They could still have arrested us, couldn’t they? They could have stopped us from going home.”
Fury, indeed…
Says Gerry McCann: “I will be honest. We have got no idea whether Madeleine is alive or not. What we are certain of is that there is absolutely no evidence.”
Says Clarence Mitchell:
“Kate and Gerry have chosen to speak out to an element of the Portu¬guese media because they firmly believe that there may well be important information that somebody knows in Portugal. They will do everything they can to generate new leads.”
IRISH INDEPENDENT: “’I cannot bring myself to walk down the road where she died’”
Just after midnight on September 4, 1999, Raonaid Murray was murdered savagely with a knife only 500 yards from her home in the south Dublin suburb of Glenageary.
Terrible. And Madeleine..?
Sean Hammond, a lecturer in forensic psychology at University College Cork, says high-profile murders can often have a profound impact on our behaviour and our feelings of safety. “They can leave an indelible mark. Even though the risks may be very low, people may no longer feel that it is safe to walk the streets at night. If you take a case like that of Madeleine McCann, people would have adjusted their behaviour towards their children as a result of that.”
Madeleine McCann: the benchmark of pain…

Hello Jo,
Are you feeling OK now?
Like you, I don’t care if Coco is a man or a woman. I would find it rather amusing if she was a man, really. Whatever, Coco is unique, and excellent at jesting.
You are lucky you can eat ice creams and not put weight on.

Ola - so a total of 30,000 pages of investigational reports and documents, generating a 2,500 full report, with a 57-page synopsis, right?
It stands to reason that the 57-page summary does not include many details/information listed in the 2,500 pages and even more so in the 30,000 pages…..

I wonder why Expresso “leaked” those pages…and where did they get them
from ? And Expresso are pretty pro-McCann most of the time.
A good proportaion of the Full Report was being released within a week or
so of the “leak”.
With the remainder later this month.
September 6th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
but… 30,000 p are not the full report; they are the full process
September 6th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
The PJ under the fired Amaral made or leaked unconfirmed DNA/forensic information despite warnings from the FSS, they tried to force a confession from GM, citing unconfirmed DNA/forensics, nothing more to say on it, is there.

Aren’t the 2,500 pages you refer to part of the Full Report 30,000 ?
yes

Hello! I think exactly the same, it looks to me as if the Pj aren’t interested in suing the McC at all, even for negligence.
September 6th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Marie N
GLAD you are mentionning it…..pros should nand must be aware this is serious libel and action can be taken and would taken by the PJ.LIbel is a 2 way traffic init?
No.The conclusion is that the PJ has NOT been allowed to carry its work out like any other police force. There are plenty of evidence or more exactely “signals” pointing out nto one and only direction: their involvment .They eventually will be activated in time.An interesting situation is developing here: the mccScam are not that arrogant nor furious: they have lost and they know it
September 6th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
MN - hi!
I would like to return one of the objections put forward by some pro’s (i.e., that the McC’ wouldn’t have done such a shabby cover-up job) - had the PJ wanted to frame the parents, I am quite confident they would have found quite a foolproof way to do so (for instance, having the biological material tested in Portugal)
ciao

I find it incredible that some seriously suspect the PJ of framing the MCs.
Of course, you can say the police are planting false evidence, you can say it of any police and whatever the case. In this case, if you think the police are completely dishonest and wicked, and you accuse them of such things, it means that half the people found guilty in Portugal are poor innocent people framed by the police, because if the police do it in the McC’s case, they also do it in other cases. A very serious accusation, very easy to make, and which means Portuguese police is rotten, and Portugal isn’t a democracy. Accusing the police of having planted false evidence is also saying that whatever British citizens want to do in Portugal, they are free to do, even if unlawful, since the police is framing the suspects, and not to be taken seriously, unless checked by the British police or the FBI.
Anyway, the conclusions of the investigation show the PJ didn’t plant evidence as they say they coudn’t find any.

They ARE stoopid aint they?
Pathetic,in fact
September 6th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
they gave the interview to a Portugeuse paper, because they know the Portuguese hate them, they i think about (80%) believe the Mac know far more than they admit.
they cost the Portugeuse a fortune and rubished the PJ .
plus there was i am sure so much political involvement, that they were allowed to leg it back on the day after they were arguidod, 8.9.2007.
yet they would not answer the questions or go back to do the reconstruction.
they are cheap.
September 6th, 2008 at 1:39 pm

No. The final report (that is the sinopsy of the 2,550 pages) as 57 pages.
September 6th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Says Gerry McCann: “I will be honest. We have got no idea whether Madeleine is alive or not. What we are certain of is that there is absolutely no evidence.”
He will be HONEST??????
We are certain of is there is absolutely no evidence…….of?????
Amaral answers :”if they admit Madeleine is dead then they cannot collect from a fund of more than a million pounds”
Any CLEARER anybody?
September 6th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
The silly McCann’s.
They open their mouths and out pours nonsense.
