Shannon Matthews: Craig Meehan, Adding Up Images And Gateway Porn
REMEMBER Shannon Matthews? Poor Shannon. Our Shannon.
Craig Meehan, her former live-in adult male role model, foerm lover of mother Karen Matthews, has been in court to answer charges of having indecent images of children on his PC. Meehan denies any wrongdoing.
The papers have the details…
THE TIMES: “Craig Meehan denies child pornography charges”
More than 130 images of child pornography were found on a computer seized from the home of a missing schoolgirl, a court heard heard today.
133, says the paper.
Shannon, one of seven children to Ms Matthews by five different fathers…
Fact.
Wearing a black Manchester United shirt under a padded sports coat, he sat impassively in the dock as the case against him was outlined by David Holderness, prosecuting.
Facts.
THE GUARDIAN: “Shannon Matthews stepfather had 134 indecent images, court told – ‘Convincing and overwhelming’ case that Craig Meehan downloaded indecent images of children, prosecutor says”
134 images. Fact.
THE INDEPENDENT: “Shannon mum’s partner denies porn charges”
Police searching for the missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews found more than 100 indecent images of children on a computer belonging to her mother’s then partner, a court heard today.
133. 134. Both more than 100. Fact.
YORKSHIRE EVENING POST: “Shannon’s stepdad ‘had child porn images’ on computer - court told”
“Police investigating Shannon Matthews’ step-dad for alleged child porn offences found a stash of adult videos when they raided his Dewsbury home, a court heard. Opening the case against Craig Meehan, prosecutor David Holderness said the discovery of the videos - none of which involved children - flew in the face of Meehan’s earlier claim in police interviews that he was not a user of pornography.”
Is adult porn a gateway porn?
The trial continues…

PeterMac I have seen the worst, hence my rage at the use of the expressions ‘Kiddy p*rn’ and, even worse, ‘ki*dy fidd*er’ an expression that makes it sound almost harmless fun. NOT. NOT. NOT.
Viewers of it just don’t seem to understand how they are perpetuating the trade.

They are images of child sexual abuse and very often of extreme torture of children which result in serious physical harm and often in death, and should be described as such.
This is not Erotica or Pornography. Please never confuse the issues.
And don’t ever watch it or look at it, for your own sakes. It will (or should !) make you feel physically ill, and WILL alter your normal sexual feelings for a very long time afterwards. The images are impossible to forget. ( And I only ever saw level 4 in my professional life !)
Nothing like ‘being treated like a Princess” and ‘giving her abductor her tuppenceworth’, in those flippant and ghastly phrases KM actually used.

I had the ‘porn’ argument on here long ago when RM was being ripped up and posters were talking about ‘kiddy porn’.
IMO anyone who refers to it as this should be made to sit with the police unit and watch some of the worst…… then see if it they still want to lightly call it ‘kiddy porn’.
The rape and torture of children is a better description but even that doesn’t do justice to most of it.

These are the kind of people that should be sterilised at birth.
There are no longer any mines to shove them down - and we don’t need as much cannon-fodder these days.
What is the point in allowing them to continue breeding?

They make,’ Deliverance’ look like,’ LittleHouse On The Prairie’.

Probably not.
On the other hand, CEOP goes berserk about hacks insisting on describing images of child sexual abuse as ‘pornography’:
‘CHILD ABUSE IMAGES, NOT ‘CHILD PORNOGRAPHY’.
Use of the phrase ‘child pornography’ actually benefits child sex abusers:
It indicates legitimacy and compliance on the part of the victim and therefore legality on the part of the abuser
It conjures up images of children posing in ‘provocative’ positions, rather than suffering horrific abuse
Every photograph captures an actual situation where a child has been abused. This is not pornography.’
Perhaps someday the Times et al will finally take some notice…

More to the point, without passing opinion, possessing adult porn isn’t an offence so it is surely irrelevant?
What chance does he have of a fair trial I wonder?
