International Madeleine McCann: And Eye For Denise Pipitone And Finding Rose Pizem
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Italy’s Madeleine McCann ‘found safe and well after four years’”
Italy has it’s own Maddie. Like Isreal? Are we working throught alphabet? If so, look out Jamaica…
Urgent DNA tests are being carried out on the eight year old girl found in Greece to see if she is Denise Pipitone, who vanished in 2004. She missing from outside her grandmother’s house while playing.
And?
News of the discovery will bring fresh hope to Gerry and Kate McCann after their daughter disappeared in Portugal last year, and for the parents of Ben Needham who vanished in 1991 from the same Greek island, Kos, where the Italian girl was found.
Like Our Maddie?
The DNA tests were ordered after Denise’s mother Piera, shown photographs of the girl found in Greece, said the “shape of the eyes was exactly that” of her daughter.
DAILY MIRROR: “DNA tests on ‘Italian Madeleine’”
Madeleine McCann has been missing since last May. A spokesman for her parents said: “If this is Denise then it will give Kate and Gerry immense strength and hope that Madeleine will be found.”
TIMES: “Missing girl Denise Pipitone ‘found begging’ after four-year search”
Greek police traced the Roma woman, 34, who was charged with abducting a minor. One police official said that the girl had the same birthmark under her left eye as Denise, and only spoke Italian. She is being kept under observation in the island’s hospital. The case is as well known in Italy as that of Madeleine McCann. Denise’s mother, Piera Maggio, has made repeated appeals on television for help in finding her.
Italians know of their own missing child as well as they do of Our Maddie?
DAILY MAIL: “Girl dubbed Italy’s Madeleine McCann ‘found alive and well’ four years after she vanished”
Denise’s mother Piera, who said the birthmark and the shape of the eyes were ‘exactly the same’ as her daughter’s. She added that there had been numerous false alarms in the past, so she would not allow herself to get her hopes up.
But the media can get your hopes up for you…
Last night the McCanns’ family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: ‘If these reports are true it is fantastic news for her family. But it would also give hope to Kate and Gerry because this is exactly the sort of situation that could prove that a child can go missing and be found safe and well.’
If…
THE SCOTSMAN: “Remains may be missing girl”
ISRAELI divers yesterday found a suitcase containing remains police believe belong to a missing girl whose grandfather is being held on suspicion of killing her.
The discovery in Tel Aviv’s Yarkon River marked a breakthrough in the case of four-year old Rose Pizem – missing since May. Her disappearance has transfixed Israel.
HA-ARETZ (Israel): “Until the next tragedy”
Faced with a suspect with a devilish face, an exciting and unusual family story, searches in the river - the Yarkon has never before raised such interest - and a murder without a body, we absolutely wallowed in this story. Oh, how we loved hearing the sexologist talk about the couple’s therapy the two lovers received, grandfather and mother forever. How we wanted to peek further and further into the “Israeli Madeleine McCann” family, which suddenly appeared in our lives; we invaded it with a mixture of voyeurism, gossip and a pinch, just a pinch, of real concern for the missing girl’s fate. Someone will make a film about it.
GREAT YARMOUTH MERCURY: “Visit church in cyberspace”
At 900 years old, a global opening ceremony for Great Yarmouth’s magnificent parish church might seem somewhat belated…
But in cyber world virtual people called avatars are teleporting into St Nicholas’ for a zoom around the vestry or even a stroll on the roof.
For the landmark building has been transported lock stock and wonky weather cock into the 3D virtual reality world of Second Life and now ranks among hundreds of real buildings turned into cartoon locations on the booming internet enterprise where 10m people from all over the world mingle.
Second Life…
Playboy has its own bunny-shaped island and British police have posted missing Madeleine McCann posters on virtual buildings.
Have you seen Madeleine McCann?

Garth , isn’t there some drug/underworld connection suspected with the Chinese couple found murdered? remember they had been living in the area for quite some time and could have formed certain relationships and certainly had well established routines. Holiday routines are totally different and so are the patterns of childrens day to day lives

Thats what they reckon but they are apparently only small players. (the two murdered that is)
Re the cat. To me its obvious that the murderer(s) had done this prior to the arrival of the girl. They must have wanted revenge for something and maybe thought that the couple weren’t going to turn up. Kill the cat and stick him under the sink, that’ll worry them. But then it would appear she turned up and was murdered followed by her boyfriend.

Amaral is a bigger moron than even I thought. To hawk his BS book, he keeps saying stuff that he clearly cannot prove (otherwise we wouldn’t be having this conversation). The more he sells, the more attractive a defendant he becomes. Ah, well, not the first greedy b*stard to drown clutching his bag of coins.

And, raised as a catholic myself, I can assure you there is no contradiction between IVF treatment, pre-marital sex etc. and catholic faith. For most of people it’s rather tradition and customs than theological depth. I’ve seen people who live with each other for years and see nothing wrong with it (as an agnostic I can quite understand) - and then get completely desperate and hysteric to get a church wedding. There is no logic in that, and the tradition is a powerful thing.
Women want a white dress, and that’s mainly it. Only sometimes, when something happens, people turn to religion for a consolation and start treating it in a different way. A very human thing to do …

Did anyone see crime watch uk last night?
I thought it was very interesting to note that 100 investigative officers no less were on the case of the two Chinese people murdered in their own home.
They are obviously taking this case seriously and looking into every possibility. But the only thing which did startle somewhat was that they couldnt understand why a cat was found drowned in a bucket underneath the sink. I mean it’s obvious what happened there imo.
And what about the guy who murdered his own parents? They were able to take samples of earth from the wheel arches of his car and locate the place where the parents were buried. Very clever stuff.
PJ - some lessons to be learned me thinks.

There is no contradiction between ‘not being a devout catholic’ and ‘ clinging to the religion when something happens’. It’s one of the most common thing IMO. There is a phrase in Polish - ‘jak trwoga, to do Boga’ - which means that we turn to God when we are scared. It’s also a bit of a mockery of those catholics, who normally don’t care, but start praying when on a plane etc.
I am quite surprised how black-and-white the world is for some of the posters. ‘They either love their kids or they don’t', wrote Garth (I think).
Emotions can be more ambigious than that. I think many young mothers can tell a lot about that. You can love your kid to bits, but still be tired with it sometimes, or even wish it had never been born.
Many women don’t know how to deal with those ambigious feelings, and they are too scared to share them with anyone. However, it’s quite common. Sometimes it takes long to learn to love each other.
Maravillha, canibalism has been considered on a Mirror forum a year ago, so it’s not a new thought at all.
I can recommend to look at the Charley Project site, and go through cases of non-family abductions; lots of interesting information, and maybe some pattern can arise.
I have no idea what has happened with Madeleine, I just hope the truth will be revealed one day.

The priest, IMO, would not have been thinking of I.V.F. treatment when he spoke these words, or if he were he would have qualified what “sin” he was talking about to make it clear that he was not accusing them of something much worse than I.V.F. treatment…
M and A
More than likely he meant them leaving the children alone, nothing more nothing less.
There has been some indepth discussion on the priest before and what he may or may not have said or meant. Unless he clarifies it it can be talked to the death and still we should be none the wiser

I would ask you to recover YOUR sense and ease off my back
If not…..you will be responsable for what happens to you.Take it a it is : a threat
_______________
Jo, I’m curious what kind of ‘threat’, you so foolishly used the word in writing, are you making against him? Bodily harm? Law suit? Stalking? Accident? Smear Campaign? Get your ‘buddies’ after him?
This is a new one for Anorak on here. We bully, vehemently argue, ridicule, put down, and now a new dimension has been added - now we make a threat against another poster in writing.
M and A
Hadn’t seen this, Jo I hope this is just a manner of speaking?

—————————————————————————–I think the priest could possibly have been ‘troubled’ because he learnt that the McCann’s had used IVF …….this could also be the reason the Vatican removed reference to her on its site….. it’s common knowledge what the present Pope’s feelings are on the subject!

Long time no see sleuthers….
This talk of KM (or people in general) not being able to ‘act’ normally after a death, be it by accident or by their own hand, reminds me of the stories my late uncle used to tell about the Moors Murders.
He lived next door but one to MH and often saw her and IB around and about Hattersley. He saw them either on the night of or night after two of the murders and said they behaved like nothing was amiss and perfectly normally.
Remember - these two monsters not only killed children but tortured/sexually assaulted them and could still satand in their local and have a drink with neighbours
Makes you think….saving ones own skin is human survival at its most basic form….

Obviously, to me he thinks they have done something wrong. Maybe of not having looked after the children properly, difficult to say. Maybe he was answering to a question such as “why did you help them, if they are guilty?”. That is why he stresses the fact that we have to help and pardon guilty people. But he certainly points out that he helped them precisely because people who have done something wrong, (or rather, he used the word “sin”) need help.
September 12th, 2008 at 1:43 pm

sounds like he thought they got away with it, and decided to act on the opportunity that fell into his lap!

About the dogs, Enfants Kidnappés say they will show the videos of the dogs in their entirety tonight on their site.
I looked again at what Father Pacheco said, he said “even though (aunque) they did something wrong,… we must pardon them, as christians”. Then he explains that the act is condemned, but not the person who did it. On the contrary they need to be helped. Then he says he didn’t doanything wrong, they needed his help, and he should give it, and he adds, “if they did anything wrong. We don’t know”. The journalist (and not the psychiatrist) says they probably told hi that they felt guilty, as parents that they didn’t protect her.

such an event as that, right under the noses of the movers and shakers of the
