International Madeleine McCann: And Eye For Denise Pipitone And Finding Rose Pizem
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Italy’s Madeleine McCann ‘found safe and well after four years’”
Italy has it’s own Maddie. Like Isreal? Are we working throught alphabet? If so, look out Jamaica…
Urgent DNA tests are being carried out on the eight year old girl found in Greece to see if she is Denise Pipitone, who vanished in 2004. She missing from outside her grandmother’s house while playing.
And?
News of the discovery will bring fresh hope to Gerry and Kate McCann after their daughter disappeared in Portugal last year, and for the parents of Ben Needham who vanished in 1991 from the same Greek island, Kos, where the Italian girl was found.
Like Our Maddie?
The DNA tests were ordered after Denise’s mother Piera, shown photographs of the girl found in Greece, said the “shape of the eyes was exactly that” of her daughter.
DAILY MIRROR: “DNA tests on ‘Italian Madeleine’”
Madeleine McCann has been missing since last May. A spokesman for her parents said: “If this is Denise then it will give Kate and Gerry immense strength and hope that Madeleine will be found.”
TIMES: “Missing girl Denise Pipitone ‘found begging’ after four-year search”
Greek police traced the Roma woman, 34, who was charged with abducting a minor. One police official said that the girl had the same birthmark under her left eye as Denise, and only spoke Italian. She is being kept under observation in the island’s hospital. The case is as well known in Italy as that of Madeleine McCann. Denise’s mother, Piera Maggio, has made repeated appeals on television for help in finding her.
Italians know of their own missing child as well as they do of Our Maddie?
DAILY MAIL: “Girl dubbed Italy’s Madeleine McCann ‘found alive and well’ four years after she vanished”
Denise’s mother Piera, who said the birthmark and the shape of the eyes were ‘exactly the same’ as her daughter’s. She added that there had been numerous false alarms in the past, so she would not allow herself to get her hopes up.
But the media can get your hopes up for you…
Last night the McCanns’ family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: ‘If these reports are true it is fantastic news for her family. But it would also give hope to Kate and Gerry because this is exactly the sort of situation that could prove that a child can go missing and be found safe and well.’
If…
THE SCOTSMAN: “Remains may be missing girl”
ISRAELI divers yesterday found a suitcase containing remains police believe belong to a missing girl whose grandfather is being held on suspicion of killing her.
The discovery in Tel Aviv’s Yarkon River marked a breakthrough in the case of four-year old Rose Pizem – missing since May. Her disappearance has transfixed Israel.
HA-ARETZ (Israel): “Until the next tragedy”
Faced with a suspect with a devilish face, an exciting and unusual family story, searches in the river - the Yarkon has never before raised such interest - and a murder without a body, we absolutely wallowed in this story. Oh, how we loved hearing the sexologist talk about the couple’s therapy the two lovers received, grandfather and mother forever. How we wanted to peek further and further into the “Israeli Madeleine McCann” family, which suddenly appeared in our lives; we invaded it with a mixture of voyeurism, gossip and a pinch, just a pinch, of real concern for the missing girl’s fate. Someone will make a film about it.
GREAT YARMOUTH MERCURY: “Visit church in cyberspace”
At 900 years old, a global opening ceremony for Great Yarmouth’s magnificent parish church might seem somewhat belated…
But in cyber world virtual people called avatars are teleporting into St Nicholas’ for a zoom around the vestry or even a stroll on the roof.
For the landmark building has been transported lock stock and wonky weather cock into the 3D virtual reality world of Second Life and now ranks among hundreds of real buildings turned into cartoon locations on the booming internet enterprise where 10m people from all over the world mingle.
Second Life…
Playboy has its own bunny-shaped island and British police have posted missing Madeleine McCann posters on virtual buildings.
Have you seen Madeleine McCann?

“A gipsy woman with the child at first claimed to be her mother but later admitted she was not, according to police. ”
“He called the police who conducted DNA tests which showed there was no blood relationship between the two. “

Garth no, it can’t mean that since Denise was never an obejct of debate here, so no theories were formulated before this recent sighting (which sadly appears to be unfounded)
It also seems not to be true that the little girl was speaking more than just a few words of Italian

garth, i notice you have difficulties keeping up a discussion, when confronted you get condenscensing, okay, whatever.

Gsrth, well that’s the impression I got - could be that what with working, and checking on the kids painting the living room walls (well also the floor, I guess!), and billing and multitasking all day maybe I have some problems understanding ….

September 12th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
yes we only have 2 gces, and have to get to liddels quickly before the turky twizlers sell out.
September 12th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
Pam, I can’t find any mention of the girl’s DNA not matching the albanian woman who had her - from what I read in the Italian press, they still have to run DNA assays for the woman and the girl
It’s hard as usual to get reliable news!
September 12th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
what is she saying then garth ?

Pam, do you honestly think people here would be sorry to have Madeleine return just because it would prove their theories wrong?

That’s not what Pam is saying…….
September 12th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
yes pam, thank you.
September 12th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
no, pam, nothing to do with belief, i missed that piece of information.
September 12th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
Pam, do you honestly think people here would be sorry to have Madeleine return just because it would prove their theories wrong?
Or do you think that just in case Denise is found, it increases the odds of Madeleine being found as well?
I don’t think anybody denies that pedophil kidnapping occurs - what many of us feel is that this is not what happened here
Actually, I as a mother would think it to be better off for a young girl to be dead rather than to be in the hands of pedophils
Please bear in mind we’re on a forum, we’re debating, hashing theories, what’s wrong with that?
September 12th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
The Greek authorities performed DNA testing to eliminate the Roma woman as a parent before asking for DNA tests on Denise’s mom in Italy.

September 12th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
have i missed something how do we know she is not gentically linked to the romany ?
September 12th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
So, Sam, we don’t believe the Greek police either? They have announced that DNA tests prove she is not GENETICALLY (which is what I believe I said) related to the woman who first claimed, but later denied, being the child’s mother.
Okay then, I shall adjust the lists:
THOSE WE DO NOT BELIEVE: Parents, friends, relatives, random witnesses, Portugese police, British police, Greek police.
THOSE WE BELIEVE: Coco and her new world order (i.e. the Coco-nuts), Joana Morais, Paulo Reis (more recently–we didn’t like him at all early on), and ourselves.
Good. Think I’m clear then.
September 12th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
Pam - I just read that the girl in Greece has a different blood group from Denise’s.
It seems that some family member had something to do with her disappearance - Denise’s mother stepdaughter together with her Tunisian boyfriend - it was suggested they kidnapped her (there was also a satellite imaging of the exact moment she was taken) and left in a Roma camp the stepdaughter used to go to often
BF - OMG don’t tell me (but I love the pretty little heart…)

pam, please get off the soapbox, we don’t know if the child is denise or not and we don’t know if she is related to the romany or not, if she is then the ‘rescue’ could actually be a legal abduction, we simply don’t know.

garth re the double murder, it reminds me of mafioso films where such extreme things were done as a lesson too.
September 12th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
I know Pam. And its sad to watch.
Unfortunately my head is already bruised. However, gradually the blows are becoming a little less painful.
September 12th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Garth, poor baby, you’re only going to bruise your head by banging it against the damn wall. Look, this topic (like our day-long ramble that ended with Elizabeth Smart as the willing bride of a filthy, psychotic drifter three times her age, who apparently didn’t abduct her–they just, you know, eloped) exposes the true colors of your opponents.
They persist in saying they’re only interested in justice for Madeleine, in the rights of children, and yadda, yadda, yadda. Now, a child has been found. Is it Denise Pipitone? We don’t know yet, but we DO know that she is not genetically linked to the Roma woman who first claimed to be her mother. She is someone’s child, found begging in the street, and she has been rescued. She is receiving medical and psychological care.
These are the facts. These are ALL the facts we know.
Do they rejoice, these child champions? No. Twenty-four hours ago, they had likely never heard of this child, but now they think something’s not quite right. Something stinks. They reference whack blogs that share their whack opinions. Why? Because this child’s survival calls into question their whack theories on Madeleine McCann and threatens the ego investment they have made among absolute strangers in an anonymous forum on (what was intended to be) a humorous website.
I call bullsh*t.

Amaral is a bigger moron than even I thought. To hawk his BS book, he keeps saying stuff that he clearly cannot prove (otherwise we wouldn’t be having this conversation). The more he sells, the more attractive a defendant he becomes. Ah, well, not the first greedy b*stard to drown clutching his bag of coins.

If the perpetrator of this crime is ever proved then i think Amaral should be shot. That would make my day.
