News of the discovery will bring fresh hope to Gerry and Kate McCann after their daughter disappeared in Portugal last year, and for the parents of Ben Needham who vanished in 1991 from the same Greek island, Kos, where the Italian girl was found.

The DNA tests were ordered after Denise’s mother Piera, shown photographs of the girl found in Greece, said the “shape of the eyes was exactly that” of her daughter.

ro po, i would really would like to know if they had had a row the evening before and if they were still having a row the next day, and if that is why they didn’t go to the beach with the rest of the group, and if when they got back with the kids to the apartment they were still rowing and madeleine came to harm then.

Hi sam, are we any less confused now we have the files?
According to the statements. on 3rd May, Kate took Madeleine back to the creche
after lunch and she went jogging while Gerry played tennis. After collecting the twins
and Madeleine ( I presume Gerry went with her) at 5.30pm, Gerry went back to the Court.
David Payne came along about 6.30pm and Gerry asked him to ask Kate if she wanted
to bring the children down to the court. David Payne reported back that Kate had
bathed the twins ready for bed. Payne says he was in the apartment for 30 minutes,Kate says 30 seconds, but this could be translation. In Kate”s statement she
says Madeleine slept in their bed because she and Gerry had had a row,presumably
on 2nd May.

the real stig, i’m not that fit so i’m not sure how long i’d would need to jog to an exortic location. which reminds me, kate had two showers that day/evening, or more a shower and then a bath, like within two hours by all accounts, is that normal, perhaps so considering she had been jogging.
kate says in one statement they had agreed the children should stay and yet in another statement i read gerry sends someone to see if the kids were coming to play, or something like that. then, when the person who was sent to check on kate got back, i read that gerry sloped off shortly after without finishing the match. i hope i don’t have to find links for all of this. so i am wondering if they had an argument before tennis or something.

RS -yes I do. I think mary has a point that it might be much simpler thn it all seems. Stilll believe the McCanns should have taken full responsibility as it would not have happened if they’d looked after their children-or at least we’d have had more sympathy if they’d been in the living room when some rotter broke in and snatched her.

With the use of a car, it would be very easy to put the bag in a car and hide it temporarily until a more permanent hiding place could be found. I definitely remember
a yacht seen sailing out of the harbour 2 hrs. after Madeleine was reported missing, but
apparently this was later checked out and discounted. Still doesn”t add up though, what about the evidence found in the Scenic?

Agreed, without a body, it would be hard to prove anything. The Files have been a let
down as far as any new information is concerned, translations don”t help either.
The interview in Madrid where Amaral says there was a “cover-up” is revealing and
he could be sued if this is untrue. If there is no Press Statement disputing this, you have to wonder why.
