In Holland Children Play Football To Win

by | 18th, September 2008

THE Football Association bans football league tables and trophies for 9, 10 and 11-year old. But children want to win. Why, like the professionals, they’ll cheat to win:

For the first time in over 100 years, a Dutch primary school football team has been caught cheating. In the final of the girls’ tournament, The Willibrordus Catholic primary school in the town of Bovenkarspel fielded players who were already in secondary school. The Royal Dutch Football Union (KNVB) discovered the deception after an extensive investigation. Willibrordus was ordered to return the trophy after the summer holidays.
