Bomb Squad Explodes Suspicious Hotdogs
FOOD police!:
The discovery of several hot dogs in packages outside Citizens Bank Park brought the bomb squad out and forced the temporary evacuation of the stadium Wednesday evening.
According to police, Pattison Street between Darien and 11th Streets was shutdown as officials investigated the discovery of several suspicious packages near a ticket office.
Fans inside the stadium were evacuated, but players remained on the field during the incident.
Bomb squad members further investigated the packages and determined they were simply several hot dogs in foil wrappers. Sadly, the wieners were detonated as a precaution.
It’s what the pig would have wanted…

It is extremely dangerous to assume that some one in the City knows what they are doing.
99 times out of a hundred they are just doing what everyone else is doing, which is fine if what everyone else is doing is sensible/logical/rational etc.
Frequently it isn’t; the herd mentality dominates. Bankers like to think that they are predators, but in reality they are a lot closer to a herd of buffalo; they may well be trampling smaller animals underfoot, but they are still stampeding over a cliff….

That’s my Oop North mentality. I just assume everyone who works in the city knows more about money than I ever will…and earns more in a week than I ever will…which is less fantastical than it might seem. You’re doing good work in these Troubled times. It goes waaaay over my head though.

No, I was just trying to bring a little joy into the lives of people who may be lumbered with Troubled Assets…

A run at the bank..ha!..but no, I’d better stop trying to to financial gags - it’s not really my metier.
I bow to your experience and knowledge in these matters and walk carefully backwards out of your bailiwick, trying not to knock anything over. Some of this stuff is REALLY expensive.
[sticking to cheap kn*b jokes in future, probably]

I was assuming that the dubious hot dogs were a dastardly plan to nobble the bankers by giving them the runs…

Ha! Citizens Bank Park - what a terrible name for a sports stadium.
From their ‘about us’ page:
In 1828, Citizens Financial Group got its start as a small community bank called the High Street Bank in Providence, Rhode Island.
Citizens Financial Group, Inc. is a $161 billion commercial bank holding company…CFG is owned by RBS (The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc).
So, by this time next week, it’ll probably be renamed to Avon Lady From Down The Street You Know The One She’s Got That Big Mole On Her Neck And A Bit Of A Gammy Leg You Do Know Her She’s Got A Doberman In The Back Garden It Barks All Night Every Bloody Night She’s Nice Though And Her Eldest Always Cuts The Old Lady Next Door’s Grass For Free…Park.
Either that or Ted’s Burger Van Park…one thing about this financial strife…it’s going to let the little players in.

OK, make mental note not to go back to Philadelphia, and instead focus my efforts on burgers in Boston…
