Yep! It pisses me off that celebrities need all the trappings of a US Election these days.

Why bands have to have their very own amps and speakers and lighting rigs and cyclarama and mike stands and chairs and mobile homes and kids and creches and husbands and boy-friends and more wardrobes than they can wear and their own thousand litres or so of their favourite bottles of water and curtains and stage-sets etc., etc.. etc. is a complete fucking farce.

If a band or a singer is any good or remotely charismatic - that's good enough to get their arses up on the stage without all the fancy lighting and stage sets and the entourage of bollocks to support their increasingly mediocre acts.

They should treat everything like a jam session and live without all this sh*te nowadays. Or just cast something onto the web that we can load down.

Half the stadia see people sat so far away from their idols that they would be better off watching them at home on a portable TV anyway!

Good for you Ms Midler! Let's hope people take a leaf out of your book - or use the perfectly adequate equipment that is in-house in virtually every town and city in the World!
