I would like to say to that Upyajumper that i share a horse and i would not call myself a snob for certain reasons i will not go in to detail.I am not saying that KP cannot ride but it takes more than just a year to learn to ride. I have been riding 4 years now and still i have many things to work on but i work hard and always take my horses needs into account and not go sticking diamonds on my horse any oh how! If you are calling me and fellow riders for saying she cannot ride but i do not have an amazing rider for an instructor or do i spend millions of my horse so i have a headstart in the riding career. when i got my horse she didn’t know how to canter, jump or stand still. Over the past year and a half we have worked together to get through it and overcome her problems. I would like to say again that i am not saying KP cannot ride or will never become a great rider because i know she is a woman with great determination but i do have to say that just because she’s a celeb doesn’t mean she should be automatically be entered into HOYS. I dream of appearing in HOYS and i have worked a lot harder to get where i am now then KP has. I wish her gd luck in her future riding and hope she does get where she wants to be but i think i will lose complete faith in the equitation world if she is picked for the Olympics in 2012!

Makes me laugh….I’ve been trying to find a video of Kates performance(s) at the HOTYS - however instead I have found lots of snobby people who are making it their aim to fill every colomn inch with their “get her out of OUR sport” tat.

So its only open to those inbred elite is it? Bolax! Im glad a person who can work hard (oh and has common sense - I mean we know all you snobs just don’t have it regardless of your education) and actually shows those children not born with a silver spoon in their mouths that they can do anything they achieve - with grit and determination. KP hasn’t gone out saying shes great - shes gone out to try and be great at it. Regardless of how much her horse or trainer costs - who cares! (oh you snobs thats right)

Regardless of whether the set are being stripped of cash by someone selling the expensive dressage outfits (who just may have a pedigree) - or buying into Katies new range - GO FOR IT should be the cry from all of them!

My family are into this and I haven’t heard any of them complain - I mean at the end of the day - snobs will make money off the back of her - so go back to dusting your candleabras !

I have just been to ‘ horse of the year show’, the jordan bit was rubish , she was sandwiched between two good riders, and gave the wrong aids to her very good horse and it went to pot! I expect expertise at this’ show of the year’ for us horse people. So go back to ‘pete’ soon and leave ‘the horse of the year show’ to the experts!

Er, hate to say the obvious, but just about anything beats riding Pete.

On the other hand, dressage is actually extremely difficult, and anyone who has the talent and the guts to do it is probably a long way ahead of Michael K…
