Madeleine McCann: Family Danger, Caylee Anthony And A Challenge To Libel
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
THE SUN: “Maddie: Hol chat on risk of kidnap”
James Clench continues his investigation of the McCann’s holiday, and he’s brought Lucy Hagan along for back up…
Perhaps James can be Gerry McCann and Lucy can be Kate, and they can turn their story into a multi-media play for today? Now read on…
Kate McCann and three friends discussed child-snatchers hours before daughter Madeleine disappeared, it has emerged.
Oh, aye. After yesterday’s news of Kate McCann picking up bade vibes, we now have a story that mother of young children talked about bogey men, stranger danger and paedos. What are the odds? Madeleine McCann: The Full Picture:
Dr Russell O’Brien, one of the so-called Tapas Seven, told police of the “haunting” conversation had while on holiday in Portugal last year. He said it came up after another father said he felt awkward photographing his own child.
Men and children. Beware. Feel the fear… What of the other facts?
Dr O’Brien, 37, was with his partner Jane Tanner, 37, Rachel Oldfield, 37, and Kate, 40.
Facts! Now Clench is getting somewhere…
He said: “We then had a conversation about the ludicrous pressure on parents that they can’t take photos of their children.
Bill Henson is listening…
“The other aspect of the conversation, which is doubly haunting, was that we said, ‘You’re far more likely to get clobbered by your uncle or your neighbour than some random stranger’. Since this happened ten or 11 hours before Madeleine was abducted, it seemed a very uncomfortable coincidence.”
The words appear like a challenge for readers to libel someone.
MOM LOGIC (US): “Media Bias: Only White Kids Get Abducted”
Thousands of kids go missing each day — so why do we never seem to hear about the African-American children?
We only hear about Madeleine McCann. She is the benchmark for missing chidlren.
What do JonBenet Ramsey, Madeleine McCann, Elizabeth Smart and Polly Klaas all have in common?
They were all abducted by aliens? They all had six fingers on their left hand? They all liked pink?
They are all girls who have been abducted — or in the most tragic cases, killed — and they are all attractive white girls.
Spooky. Are photogenic white girls more likely to go missing, then?
The media has always seemed to only be interested in covering stories of white children who go missing — and pretty ones at that. Currently, Caylee Anthony fits that profile: doe-eyed with a winning smile. Despite ourselves when we first heard her story many of us thought, “Oh it’s so sad, she’s such a pretty little girl.”
Do we value one child above another?
But pretty and white are not the only children in peril, and are not the only ones who should have our attention. Nearly 800,000 children under the age of 18 are reported missing each year in the United States, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Of those reported missing, 33% are African-American. So where’s the 24/7 coverage of their stories?
Well, not all of the 800,000 are children. Not all stay missing. And not all of them are of a type of child that gels with the readers of national newspapers and the TV news.
One website is doing its part to at least try to fix the disparity. Black and Missing But Not Forgotten is dedicated to spreading awareness of missing African-American children. One post on the site “Caylee Anthony is Not the Only Missing Florida Toddler, ” tells the story of little Zenyetta Ra, who is also missing from the Tampa area, about 84 miles from the last known sighting of Caylee. “Zenyetta Ra is also missing”, says the site, “However, you won’t see Nancy Grace talking about her. Not even the local news.”
The website further exemplifies the bias by this statistic. A Google search on Caylee will garner about 600,000 results. “Can’t say the same for Zenyetta,” laments the website.
Madeleine McCann is missing - still missing…

FFS the fukwits have finally almost succeeded in putting an end to the MM threads here, a sad demise, now populated by clowns windylickers and libel tossers…………what a stramash!!!!!!!!!
……………………………………………………………………………………………..
Fuck off you horrible thing.
I am concerned at the motives of a man who just wants the whole debacle to die a death and disappear like the child herself.
Mmmmmmmmm! You are one suspicious libellous, windylicker, clown of a man.
Why would a gig grown-up blokey want to post about something like this when he has no intentions of helping to find out what REALLY happened???
My mind is boggling as to why you would waste your time.
What about the doggies who have never put a foot wrong before?
What about the jemmied shutters?
You are an Arse-Wipe of the highest order! Knob-Head!

psychics have cleverly fitted all the puzzle pieces into place : they have tied in….. gerry’s face, car ride with father, deserted farmhouse, photographing of Maddie & family, maddie’s only trip to the beach, writing down the comings and goings of the group each night (obviously better than they did themselves! LOL ), man made dam, landfill site, bundled in boot of car etc etc
IT’S ALL THERE.
oh aren’t they clever, especially with the benefit of hindsight.

Well if you cannot get your head around the fact that someone who took Madeleine McCann could actually see what he was doing in that apartment in dim light and who had targeted Madeleine and was more than likely in the apartment on GM’s visit then I guess you have to join Cheniers gang of no hopers with the mindset of a gnat and opt for an alien theory.
Then for the first time we’d understand where the aliens are coming from……

So is it - or is it not the Aliens that got MM to disappear?
BRANDONFLOURS! I love mineral make-up.
I was given some of the best and most expensive a few years ago and I can honestly say that if you go on ebay and look for Southern Magnolias Make-up.
You will get the very best for a fraction of the price - and it truly does get better and better throughout the day and night - and sometimes right through until the next day!
Not that I have ever done that!!! Hrrrrrrrmphhhhhh!

“Sometimes people do things for reasons that even they cannot understand,” Mr McCann, a devout Catholic, wrote.
“An act of madness, an accident or sudden impulse can lead to consequences that people may never have imagined or intended.
“Faced with such a situation we believe any human soul will ultimately suffer torment and feelings of guilt and fear.”

Administrator: This comment is a general one but there are one or two to whom it applies more than others.
There have been several deliberate attempts to post libellous statements recently. The view appears to be since we try to uphold the law, we are in some way wrong-headed and should be challenged. That is fair enough, you may challenge an administrator or moderator’s decision. What you can not do, and we will not allow, is carry out a deliberate attempt to break the law. That sort of behaviour is dangerous, childish and unacceptable.
The fact is Anorak is bound by British Law. What other sites think they may or may not get away with is of no concern to us and, if you wish to carry on posting here, it should be of no concern to you.
When a moderator makes a decision based on law, the editor, I and all other moderators will back that decision to the hilt. There is no appeal or redress and if posters persist in attempting to break the law then there is no choice.
The situation has become so silly permanent bans are now being considered. We would prefer not to do that since every blocking or ban is a failure by Anorak’s administration. We want you all to enjoy Anorak and each other. If we have to block you then we have failed to persuade you the correct way is the right way.
The rules are simple keep it legal and there are no issues to deal with. Break the law and the choices are fast running out. The moderators are there to help you and take no pleasure in having to repeatedly pull posts. Much of what is now being attempted covers old ground and is sterile debate.
The point has now arrived where further attempts to deliberately post libellous material can only result in a ban. I would have thought that such a ban would be permanent since we would now have to regard it as a deliberate attempt to drag Anorak into a dangerous position…that can not be allowed.

The claims made about Father Pacheco are libelous.
If you repeat them I shall have no alternative but to block all the posts of people who have posted these libels.
The same applies to anyone who cannot produce evidence about the claims made about the Prime Minister.

Theres a really interesting series on itv3 about female killers presented by crime author Martina Cole at the moment.
http://www.itv.com/Channels/ITV3/MartinaColesLadyKillers/default.html
last nights covered
Amelia Dyer
Series in which crime writer Martina Cole explores the lives of six female serial killers, re-examining evidence, and providing a comprehensive portrait of the sociological backgrounds that may have moulded them. Today she examines life and crimes of the Victorian baby killer Amelia Dyer, who is thought to have killed more than four hundred infants over a span of 30 years.
