ANOTHER proud titan of the financial world lies prostrate beneath the corpse of the Nordic Kitten; Barnsley Building Society is no more.
But lets have a round of applause for the Yorkshire Building Society, which has taken in the bereft Barnsleyans, in a heartwarming outbreak of mutuality which suggests that we are all Keynesian now.
Apart from the Bullinghams, of course…

Hasn’t it just! The Royal Mint! Tres honourable! lol
However - the long and honourable tradition of printing has sadly become just a series of holograms and anagrams and encryptions - where people with computers can make their own pound notes but the printed word is becoming stifled by the Media Monitors.
Horrible big green lizards that will come and eat our words as they are typed onto the page and we will all be manacled to walls so that we can no longer print our own money and secure all those mortgage deals or even write what we like.
Ask David Icke! I can see what he’s saying now. Fucking Hell - it’s taken me years to understand him. He’s not a knob after all!

Dear Anxious of Cheapside,
It appears to have finally dawned on the world that the Financial Markets bear a strong similarity to the village which eked out a meagre living by taking in each other’s washing.
I am sorry to say that you have roughly as much chance of retrieving your deposit on those delectable business opportunities as you do of getting a £27 note out of a hole in the wall.
On the other hand, printing has a long and honourable tradition…

Dear Aunt Chenier,
The sales representative. who clinched the deal with me says the six houses I have purchased to rent in Colliery Avenue, Slagton, Northgrimshire are a prudent and sound investment.
He had an unexpected urgent meeting shortly after I handed over the deposit and we were unable to complete the suggested mortgage arrangements.
Would you recommend Northern Rock, Lloyds-TSB HBOS, RBS or Goldman Sachs as a suitable touch for the money?
Alternatively, should I follow the UK Government’s example and start printing my own?
I thought a £27 note would be nice.
Yours Etc.,
Anxious,
Cheapside,
