I feel so sorry for the people that lost their lives - but I couldn't help being a bit traitorous and thinking that the gap between the ordinary people who lived in Bali and the rich Western tourists was so huge that it was probably quite normal for resentments to surface and turn violent (esp. with Militant Islam as a vehicle).
