Maravilha Says:

...................................................................

I think I understand what you mean and the basic truths are that there are at the very least, two people who know what happened to Madeleine, that is Madeleine herself (1) and the person who took her (2), it is clear after all, that she did not wander off by herself.

We then have the possibility of a third person (3) who may have been working with (2) and, unless they were just opportunists, there may be (4++++++++) others in a possible syndicate who may have also been working with even more others, so it isn't as if nobody at all knows what happened to the child. The trouble is, with the passage of time, whereas initially there may have been a weak link who might have just broken under pressure, it is now too far down the line and they will all be happy in the knowledge that they have got away with it.

The only way now that she will be "discovered" is by accident i.e. someone stumbling over her remains, as I doubt very, very much if she is still alive as there would then be too many "jumpy" people who still would know where she is and who still might bend under pressure and the lure of any rewards, presumably there is still money left to pay such a thing ? Is there still a "Madeleine Fund" ? if so how much is in it now I wonder ?

Thatpoorpriest,

I don't think each person told it to 5 people. Each person told it to one person and that one person told it to another one person, etc etc.By now, there must be a lot of people who know the truth or at least a part of it.We don't know what happened to her.If at least two people know what happened, very many people know it already.

We have to wait.

last week, while I was browsing through anorak, my dad looked over my shoulder and said - surely you're not still reading about Madeleine -. Well, I left the computer to cook the dinner, while I was away he took my place and started reading. Then he said - I now see why you are so fascinated. He had no idea what had gone on, and now he reads about it more than I do!

Since then I have passed the internet info on to several friends who also have become hooked.

I was thinking, if each person told 5 people and they in turn did the same etc. very soon , so many people would begin to see the light, that people pressure would reopen the case and charges would at last be made. Or, at the very least, the silent 7 would be compelled to break the pact imposed upon them, just so that they could prove their own innocence, and not have a loud over their heads.

I've been sleuthing on the other side and in other places and guess what I want to know the riddle of the door.

On the McC files there are three different drawn plans of Maddie's bedroom and one photo taken through the window after the police had finished their inspection. All three drawings show the door opening different ways, two inwards hinged either on the left or the right and one showing it opening outwards - this latter matches the photo so far as one can see. The interesting thing is that only one version (door opening inwards with Maddie's bed behind the door) woould allow MO's story to be true, that he could see the twins but not M. According to the photo where the door opens outwards he would actually have seen Maddie before the twins as he pulled the door open.

If as the photo suggests the door opened outwards then it would have to have been slammed if at all by the draught from the patio doors, in which case it would have been yanked from KM's hands as she went to shut it - some draught?!

Perhaps it was a virtual door or an ever-changing door, like those fascinating oldfashioned note clips which clamped the notes whicever way you opened them by an interesting arrangement of digonal straps? OK I'm wittering but it's late and it's quiet around here tonight.

Chatelaine I think you should get your maman firmly hooked on the trail of child neglectors, she would spot the flaws in strange stories in an instant, might not bark like Eddie and Keela but I bet she'd anjoy the chase all the same. x lol :) :)

Montaillou, sincerely hope you're right and she'll be there for a long time!
Your maman being compos mentis is very important, as regretful as her demise is. So many of my friends have one of their parents or loved ones drifting away into oblivion without - I think that's the hardest - not remembering you anymore.

Chatelaine she'll be with you for a long time yet, she sounds like a very feisty lady. I've got to say my own maman was totally compos mentis right to the end in spite of dreadful physical debility, result of appalling UK NHS in the 89s and early 90s, very sad.

Montaillou, she's in the Netherlands now. As she's half deaf, I cannot keep her posted over the phone in detail. As soon as she's back here in France, I'll tell her about you. She might have something to say to you. Sorry to hear that your Maman isn't with you anymore. I don't really want to think about losing mine.

Montaillou, she’s in the Netherlands now. As she’s half deaf, I cannot keep her posted over the phone in detail. As soon as she’s back here in France, I’ll tell her about you. She might have something to say to you. Sorry to hear that your Maman isn’t with you anymore. I don’t really want to think about losing mine.
