Update: Yasser Barack Guardian
UPDATE: It’s not Ros Taylor’s baby. She tells us that she has not given birth to a new hope yet and is but four months into her pregnancy.
Ros has yet to put her name down for any baby names. Indeed, before doing so she may like to consult with Laurence Y Payg, an expert in such matters.
Jemima Kiss points out our error in not investigating her twitter annoucement.
So whose little Barack is it? He does exist, right?

THE Deputy editor of the Guardian’s Comment Is Free site (Ros Taylor?) A Guardian writer has given their newborn child the middlename… Barack. Says Jemima Kiss (see comments):
Beyond parody: “Matt Seaton is editor of Comment is free. He is the author of three books on cycling.” Wanna see a picture?

Have you you put your name down for a good name, Ros? So not you. An error. We should not have speculated and apologise. Congratulations, though, on your pregnancy - hope all goes well.
Jermima Kiss writes:
Interested to see my tweet picked up by you yesterday… I know all too well how useful Twitter is as a source for stories. But I do wish you’d checked with me because you’ve named the wrong people in your story. My mistake for including the (wrong) job title.
I know there’s an old media attitude that if it’s on Twitter, it’s fair game, but in reality our Twitter posse is quite amiable and you don’t expect quotes to be used elsewhere in any way that might upset people.
Anyway, it’s no biggie. But just ping me to check the details next time.

I am the deputy editor of Comment is Free, I’m four months pregnant, and therefore have not named my unborn child.

It’s an improvement on Peaches.

Of course it just had to be a bloody Guardian Editor who has a baby on the historical night and calls it Barack!
There would have been none of that down the Telegraph offices! Let me just assure everyone of that.
