Madeleine McCann: Adopted by Angelina Jolie, And The Changeling
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
DAILY MAIL: “A mother leaves her child while she goes out - and returns to an empty house. No, not the McCann case but the true story behind a gripping new film”
Fact. Fiction. Can you spot the difference?
She was a devoted mother, hard-working, determined and tough. Then, one spring morning, Christine Collins kissed her little child goodbye (leaving him under the eye of neighbours), before returning in the evening to an empty house. Her beloved son had vanished without a trace.
A continent-wide hunt was launched and a shocked nation was kept agog by a string of leads - only for their hopes to be cruelly dashed as each clue led to a dead end.
The child was never seen again, the mother was heartbroken and the community was left divided by suspicion and mistrust.
Terrible. Just terrible. Does it work out in the end?
It could be the tragic story of Kate and Gerry McCann and their three-year-old daughter, Madeleine, who was abducted last year while on holiday in Portugal, and who remains missing to this day.
It could be, albeit with better lighting, a decent cast and a 15 certificate… Gone, Baby, Gone…
But, in fact, it is the plot of Clint Eastwood’s latest film, Changeling, which opens in Britain later this month.
But it’s all false, right? Angelina Jolie is only acting, right? Unless she adopted Madeleine?
It is all the more powerful because it is based on a horrific true story. The so-called ‘Wineville chicken coop murders’ took place on the outskirts of Los Angeles in 1928.
And while they happened 80 years before Maddie McCann disappeared, there are startling parallels between the two.
The McCanns’ grim experience in Praia de Luz - and how they were made suspects by bungling local police - was widely reported.
But Christine Collins suffered even worse treatment at the hands of the LA Police Department. As the investigation into her missing child failed to yield results, she was even locked up in a mental asylum.
It’s enough to drive you maaaaad. Maaaaad, I tell yer…
As in the McCann case, rumour followed rumour.
Each one recorded for posterity…

See you all later, I’m off to practise my freemason distress signals. Not sure what degree I’ve reached (thanks to Matt for that, hope your headless body isn’t really hanging from Blackfriars bridge and that you aren’t a banker, God’s or otherwise -shows it’s a dodgy professin eh?) , or even whether as you go up through the degrees you get to have bigger and better distress signals to get you bigger and better pots of money to help, but we shall see. bbl lol

Please dont Gandolf, you’ll make them less suspicious.
Now where’s the fun in that?

On the locations and the pieces that were marked and signaled by the blood dog, forensics tests were performed, especially at a reputed British laboratory (Forensic Science Service – check Appendixes I and VII – FSS Final Report) but also, some of them at the reputed National Institute of Forensics Medicine (check Appendix I), whose final results did not corroborate the canine markings, which is to say, cellular material was collected that was not identified as pertaining to anyone specific, and it was not even possible to determine the quality of that material (v.g. whether it could be blood or another type of bodily fluid).
FINAL REPORT.

“‘ The Changeling’ … a story about substituting a dead child with another similar and expecting people not to notice…outRAGEous!”
Yes, and a story with two culprits (a serial child killer and the LA police department) and two victims (the missing child and his mother) as well.

Dont think your clever luv cos you certainly aint.
Did you take on board anything Pam said?
It’s okay having suspicions but you have got to have reasons for them.
There were suspicions surrounding Princess Dianas’ death but they were at least reasonable.
Can you give a good reason as to why you suspect them because there sure aint any floating around to my knowledge.
Perhaps your intelligence (as you appear to call it) could enlighten us all? If not then shutup!

Pammy thank you so much for your kind words. Most people do think I am a sane and intelligent person and my sanity and intelligence lead me to conclude that there are so many things that simply don’t hang together in this whole sorry case that I cannot be a McC groupie. The testimonies of The Group, the very strange behaviour and demeanour of The Duo, the complete absence of anything at all coming out of paedo and criminal networks, The Dogs, marking only the areas inhabited by and the possessions of one particular family, the way the fund was set up and the way the monies have been deployed, the suing of easy targets and the surprising non-suing of others who would definitely go to court rather than pay up the failure to demand that the investigation be taken up by the UK police. Initially I was inclided to give them all the benefit of the doubt despite my gut feelings about their behaviour and the way they expressed themselves, but as time goes on and I read more of the translations coming out I truly believe there is something exceedingly fishy. I don’t pretend to know what although like most other people I have my own views. One thing is certain, they do themselves no favours and the reason the case continues to interest people and rolls on and on is that there are answers which many people believe that they could provide, but they obfuscate where they can and dodge where they can’t.

Watcher,
That too! LOL!
It’s not only the Portugese who suffer the higher burden of proof.
‘Nuff said.

Hi Julie. looked in the other day and wondered where you were. Long time no see though I could have missed you when I was scrolling the dross.

We’re not getting fewer, just really, really bored.
You know, here’s the thing: I have the same question about the “pro” (and I use the prefix only because some clearly do not understand the word “objective”) posters as about the McCanns.
Had the McCanns injured or killed their child, either by accident or intent, WHY would they have brought this huge LE and media onslaught down on their own heads?
Having then escaped by the skin of their teeth, WHY would they not have breathed a sigh of relief and slunk quietly away months ago when they were cleared (and they were) and the case shelved (and it was)? These are two of the big three questions to which I keep returning. Can you think of ANY cogent answer?
Similarly, why would your opponents in this debate not have gone to ground at the same time? They WON this argument months ago. You’re left lobbing insults with Coco and Doris. Do you not get that? You seem like a sane, intelligent person; please consider joining the guys on some other topic sometime. I believe you’ll see a huge difference between this thread and virtually any other.

“Steph, dogs in general may have a significant failure rate but these particular dogs have never been wrong except allegedly in this one particular case.”
————————
That is not true. These same dogs gave ‘interesting’ positive indications in the investigation of the orphanage on Jersey, subsequent to them being used in PDL.
Eddie gave a positive indication in a cellar and as a result, a 20cm thick concrete floor was broken up and removed. Underneath was found something initially thought to be a fragment of a childs skull. When it was sent for forensic analysis it was determined to be a shard of coconut shell. The original floor underneath the concrete was of Victorian vintage.
Eddie and Keela both gave positive indications in other places and by carrying out what amounted to an archaeological dig, some human bone fragments and teeth were discovered. However, when radio carbon dating was used on these…:
“The small number of bones that we’ve had carbon-dated up until now have given us different readings. One bone, we were told there was a probability that the person had died in 1650 but also a smaller probability that they died in 1960.”
And that is why the investigation in Jersey did not result in any charges being made.
I personally do not believe that Eddie and Kella can detect remains from 1650 - the most likely date. Here is what someone said about the dogs use in the McCann’s apartment:
“John Barrett, a former Scotland Yard dog handler, also indicated that the trained dogs used in an attempt to detect a “death smell” on Mrs McCann’s Bible and clothes were brought in too long after Madeleine vanished.
The crucial scent lasts for no longer than a month, he said. “

Steph if you want to read something worthwhile try Petronius and some of the other well informed posters.
Gandy-legs and Garffy - here’s a question - Why do you and your little friends, who seem to be getting fewer as the days go by, want the rest of us to stop posting and shut up? Is it:
a) you want the fragrant duo and their friends to be able to keep a low profile and enjoy their possibly ill-gotten gains
b) the truths within the satire and the restricted comments that are allowed make you squirm because they are too near the truth; or
c) you wanna be fwiends wiff the wannabes
November 10th, 2008 at 5:51 pm
Steph he’s just regurgitating stuff from other places that everyone else has read already, he wouldn’t know how to be a step ahead, more like three steps behind.

That’s because the burden of proof is higher in Portugal than in the UK, remember? They had this Dictator called Salazar and in the new constitution after him the PJ, who previously had lots of draconian laws and powers were restricted in what they could and could not prosecute and under which circumstances.
So the answer to this rather pathetic point which by the way gives the Portuguese credit for having a fairer system than ours, where such evidence is admissable (Jill Dando murder case), that is the circumstantial stuff.
Which brings us to the question as to why the McCanns have not gone to the UK police.
Watch them ignore this one and either insult or repeat the same lame point over and over again as if that works, rather than giving people the chance to publicly kick down such numptyism itself easily and every time, again doing the McCanns no credit ultimately.
Because they WOULD get charged is the obvious answer, and it would not look good in court, all this circumstantial evidence, all this story changing, the lower burden of proof in the UK where you don’t need a body (Kray prosecutions) anymore and so on.
If they were stitched up by the Portuguese police then why did they not go to the UK police and complain about the disappearence of a UK subject?
Just one complaint from then and the whole Police machine goes into action with full EU cooperation.
But they do not, they would rather use private detectives and cast aspersions on another sovereign UK police force.
Of course it was a UK Police officer that recommended looking at the parents and of using the UK police dogs Eddie and Keela.
So not such a foreign stitch up after all but still not going to the UK Police if they were so unhappy with the previous investigation seems very odd and another sign of not leaving every stone unturned.
But as per usual their points just lead to more incriminating and suspicious behaviour by this couple. And we post answers every time and it just makes them look worse through rational debate.
They just ignore and come on with their big idea for the day and it never flies.
Like citing the media influence, well, did they not court that in the first place? Did they not hope to make themselves some sort of celebrities for the parents of missing children before those dogs found what they did?
Again you cannot have your media cake and eat it.
So it’s the conclusion of the report then, is it?
Re. the points above and for once in your lives YOU prove otherwise.
Stop changing the subject, attempting to frame arguments, setting up straw men, selective quoting, repeating the same point and of course insulting and argue the points. Otherwise you all look very silly.

Garrffy - My understanding is that it was actully (3) some other person Grafy and that bundleman was created by some other person as well, but that certain some other person fro bundleman was not a million miles from JT. But then there wouldn’t have been any drawings at all had it not been triggered by a cliamed sighting!

Infact we ought to have our own quiz so as to ascertain who the real numpties are on this board.
So who was responsible for the description of the ‘eggman’? Was it
1. Father Christmas
2. Jane Tanner
3. Some other person

A quezzy for the numpty brigade….
Who do you think was responsible for much of the imprecise, inexact or even false contents? And what do you think the said person was quickly moved on……. ?
