A Black Man Or A White Woman: Adlington And Lewis Compete For Votes

by | 13th, November 2008

CAN a white woman beat the half-black man? It’s the question everyone at the BBC is asking.

It was Dr. King of THG Labs Inc, who said:

“I have a dream that one day my children will live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their blood sample.”

Rebecca Adlington and Lewis Hamilton are the embodiments of that ideal.

But it is Hamilton who can restore a sense of unity and pride in the country, who can encourage black men to get in high powered sports cars and race about at break-neck speeds, and let the once institutionally racist police force stop them and ask: Are you Lewis Hamilton? or the less star-struck “Who do you think you are, Lewis Hamilton?”

Against him and destiny stands Adlington.

Four More Years

A chance for Adlington to win comes around only every four years. It’s a point she is keen to drive home.

Says Adlington, with a nod to Britain’s gold reserves and the economic importance of China:

“I think that Chris Hoy, with his three cycling golds, or myself, have better claims than Lewis. I’d like to see someone from our Olympics team win it.”

Hamilton is said to be quietly confident and his camp is preparing a three-word acceptance speech, an abridged version of a brilliant seven-word acceptance speech Hamilton prepared last time round when he came so close.

Where Eagles Dare

Hamilton is the bookmaker’s favourite. But Adlington hopes that if can secure the Edwards’ endorsement, she can pull thought.

Says Edwards, who dropped out of the race earlier:

“The British Eagle must fly high again in the world’s eyes…

Continues until all calls are in, the world is overrun by Satanic Sluts and we all cry “Fix!“…
