Video: the best dive in football history?
… Or should that be the worst dive in football history? We’re not sure. Either way, you have to admire his balls (cough):
For the record, this happened in a Colombian league match earlier this week. Incredibly, the ref awarded a penalty to home side Atletico Junior, which they duly converted. There is no justice in sport.

To be fair, he did just seem to trip up on his own and not look for an advantage as given by the ref. On the other hand it does look a lot like he realised that he was offside, so might’ve fallen over to avoid the Lino’s flag.
Plus; it looks a lot like the standard of refereeing to be found in the Champions League. I’ve always wondered why Blatter et al don’t want digital refs. Having followed Latin American Football since the 1970s and knowing Blatter to be a Havelange man; it’s well known that the best way to influence a game is via the ref.
Mistakes are not a part of the game, in fact they ruin the game as you walk away in the rain in some God-forsaken region of the country having just been knocked out of the FA Cup due to a match official’s ruling (or whatever).
