<description>'On meeting Cameron, Obama was, according to diplomatic sources, "distinctly unimpressed", contrary to some reports (excitedly spun by the Conservatives) which suggested that the two men had formed an instant "bond". '

Given a choice between an instand bond and distinctly unimpressed, I'll go for the middle way; Obama had a hell of a job trying to prise Cameron's glue-like hands off his hitherto immaculate suit, and will welcome a non-EU Britain's contribution to the global economy, along with that of Iceland.

It might help if the Tories found someone to actually read Obama's speeches, bearing in mind that Obama certainly has someone who has read Cameron's. That stuff of his about supporting the risk-takers in the financial markets at the Tory conference has marked him down as almost as deluded as Alan Greenspan...</description>
