Career Suicidal Thoughts With Jon Gaunt On Matthew Norman
JON Gaunt says assisted suicide “is wrong and should never be allowed”.
Gaunt writes for the Sun, owned, like Sky, by Rupert Murdoch:
“However I fully support Sky showing the assisted suicide of Craig Ewert…on Wednesday night because at least it has kick-started a much–needed debate”
Earlier Gauny got onto the thorny matter of Matthew Norman:
“Matthew Norman continues to irritate me… he seems to think it’s funny to poke fun at my radio sacking rather than support me in my right to free speech…
I don’t suppose his lack of support has anything to so with the fact that he has been trying out for gig on TalkSquawk these past weeks. Surely to goodness he isn’t afraid of expressing an opinion that might upset the boss of the station”

For the past two years I am coping with watching a very young woman in my family with Motor Neuron Disease.
Some months ago when she discussed her own exit and Dignitas etc.- it was an absolutely horrendous and harrowing thing to have and sit and listen to - but I had to agree that if I was in that position I would want an easy end to my life.
But …….. Thank God that she is already too ill to even make the journey to Switzerland. She has got two people - one of whom is her husband - who only works part-time now - to feed, clothe, bathe, toilet - EVERYTHING! for her - every day and night - until she passes away.
The frustration she feels in not even being able to press a button on the remote for the TV. I watching her and feel her anger and fear as she tries to explain to her very young child that she has such a very short time left with him- is one of the most terrifying things I have ever witnessed to date.
The National Health Service is an utter fucking disgrace and has done absolutely fuck all to help her. Some months ago a physiotherapist came to visit her once to introduce himself - and prepare a care package - He never came back.
When she was admitted to hospital - the nurses fucked up her care - and had it not been for this woman’s husband threatening to sue and expose the hospital - she would now be dead.
There is no provision for nurses to pop in and out and help to bathe or cleaners to clean. Do you know that people with MS whose family is not benefits has to pay for the wheel-barrow of drugs that they have to take?
So unless Gordie Bruney gets a proper fucking standeard of nursing together - and home-care visitors and physiotherapists and counsellors together for the terminally ill - I absolutely fucking despair for them.
If this woman had been an animal - vets would have had her put to sleep.
But why should humans be put to sleep? Or want to be put to sleep - if there is a huge amount of money in Government coffers consistentl not claimed by people who really need it?
This Government should get off its arse and sack all the lazy bastards in the NHS - from the top to the bottom - and give all the people at the bottom of the pile a shred of fucking dignity - the Bastards.
That means all those surgeons who operate twice a day instead of four. The nurses who fuck about making neat notes instead of scribbling and hot-footing it back to the patients they are paid to look after - not to mention the ridiculous cleaners who flick dust all over the wards with long-fibred dusters on a stick - meaning they have to dust the same dust the day after.
NOBODY should live in fear of not having their dignity or people to care for them when they are incapacitated. NOBODY!
NOBODY SHOULD EVER THINK THAT THEY WOULD BE BETTER OFF DEAD - than being looked after by this Welfare State.
SHAME! This Government is the one that has had over a decade to transform the Health Service - and it still takes under-cover reporters and men from high industry to come in and teach them the basics! How very fucking sad.
If you want to die because you don’t want to live - Die! But don’t want to die because you are AFRAID to live! Just know that you will be given th edrugs and pain-killers - and you will have a dedicated team to look after your welfare!!!

Any law would have to be so watertight to prevent murder occurring.
Personal views such as religious/ ethical in origin are all very well, those opposing it needn’t use it, their views shouldn’t affect others who are suffering. Its hardly an option lightly taken, only from the far end of the tether.
Its not a case of over breakfast ‘well I would die today, but I don’t want to upset that total stranger who doesn’t have an iota of what I am feeling, but because their religion bans it , I have to live’ scenario
