There are some balls for sale which also damage the dogs mouths and tongues, I think they have been banned now in the US, they never got here.

The dummies are great , they cannot hurt the dogs, and they float if they land in water, and a heavy outer casing of canvas which is toothproof.

Having said that Ranald has been known to carry around up to 5 golfballs at one time, another hazard being the chemicals used on the grass rubs off on the balls....

Our Norfolk used to trot about with a dummy, it was bigger than her.....

June, many people also don't realize the tennis balls dangers to big dogs, as mentioned above. My cousin lost her lab that way - was throwing an ordinary size tennis ball, lab jumped high caught it, went down and lodged in its throat and dog was dead before they got it to the vet. I spend the money at the pet store and buy the large oversized tennis balls for Prince to chase. He is big but he can't close his mouth around it once caught so ...have those dummies also and there are no small size toys in my house of any kind.
