Madeleine McCann: Scottish Government’s Pink Teddy, Shannon Matthews And Liverpool’s Capital Year
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
BELFAST TELEGRAPH: “Gran’s Christmas present for Madeleine McCann unopened for second year”
The Irish grandmother of missing girl Madeleine McCann had a Christmas present ready for the five-year-old this year.
Don’t spoil the surprise…
For the second Christmas in a row, Eileen McCann left a large pink teddy bear on Madeleine’s bed, as she clings to hope that she will return home.
Oh, no! Not another pink teddy. Who buys two pink teddies for a little girl? They want nail polish and a Bratz styling head and Aquabeads…
Last year, she decided that a huge pink teddy with a white heart on it, a gift to her from the Scottish government, would be her present for Madeleine.
THE STAR: “Family torn between hope and despair for missing son”
Andrew Gosden was aged 14 when in September 2007 he left his family home in Doncaster and headed to London with just a couple of hundred pounds in his pocket.
A runaway?
Of course the anguish for Andrew’s parents has been played out against the backdrop of two much more high-profile cases of missing children - Madeleine McCann and Shannon Matthews.
The family feel some affiliation with Madeleine’s parents, who like them still await answers, but are troubled by the effect the Shannon case might have had on the British public.
“Charlotte was quite angry and upset, feeling that when so many people work hard to raise awareness of genuine needs, it is undone so readily by an unusual but highly publicised case such as this,” Kevin said.
“I wonder myself if it causes the public to make assumptions that there are dysfunctional families behind all missing cases. All I can assure you is that that is not the case.”
Although not everyone can be a doctor…
LIVERPOOL DAILY POST: “What a Capital year for the city”
Highlights of the Liverpool year:
MAY – Local politics became nailbiting with the Liberal Democrats in Liverpool holding onto control by a whisker when the independent councillor Nadia Stewart agreed to join their ranks. The party’s leader, Warren Bradley, saw off a challenge to his leadership later in the month.
It was the first anniversary of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Gerry and Liverpudlian Kate McCann, attended Our Lady of the Annunciation, Childwall, Kate’s parents’ parish.
Early signs of the credit crunch came with news that repossessions were up by almost a third in Liverpool.
A missing child found amid the credit crunch and local politics. A capital year…

Happy New Year.
I spend no time at 3As - I can’t remember my password - or I’m blocked. I only made 2 posts in a year anyway.

Because I sow the seeds of doubt in the dark place, they must be taught the error of their ways, innocent until proven guilty, over in that dark place I spread the mantra of truth, they think I am one of their disciples, when I am in fact a disciple of the righteous truth, 2000 posts says I am way to smart for their childish nonsense, they will be brought to book, the time is approaching.

A trifle vexatious
January 2nd, 2009 at 8:02 pm
don’t go there then! Stay warm and toasty at Anorak.
January 2nd, 2009 at 7:58 pm
Rasputin,
So why do you spend so much time in the dark place? You are certainly an expert on it!
January 2nd, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Nicked and sans- souci will be next at the dark place for the chop, after being drawn in by the now banned (?) moderator invented poster, poacher. At least at Anorak the posters make the agenda with a minimum of mods input, at the dark place the opposite is the norm, all to feed the egos of the photons of this world, and Madeleine’s presence cast into the background like some bit part player. What a chillingly malevolent place the dark place is.

Who, in the UK,dares to do something for Madeleine?
Official complain to the police.

I think you’ll find that’s:-
“All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players”.
Better ring to it. Shakespeare had a way with words.

He also had a way with very young girls.
As someone else said once, in that era Dodgson was presented to the Queen, and Oscar Wilde was put in prison. These days it would be the other way round.

Coco I agree with you about people neglecting their animals and their children. That’s the only damn thing I have ever agreed with you about, so that’s cause for a small celebration.
The key to staying on here is not to upset the moderators. So I will grit my teeth and refrain.
Madeleine McCann is still missing and I still tend to think she was abducted. I would rather be wrong thinking someone is innocent than be wrong thinking they are guilty,
Either way I couldn’t give a stuff really - I just wish a miracle would happen and she would come home safe. If not that then I wish I knew what really happened.

Badinage or ennui?

The Duchess:
“I quite agree with you. And the moral of that is: Be what you would seem to be, or if you’d like it put more simply: Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.”

I was considering posting some of my lamentable mawkish musings. However, unlike some posters I don’t have the ability to come back and edit my comments.
I don’t want to risk any accusations of alcohol fuelled postings. Therefore I shall wait for another occasion.
Floreat Anorak.
Anyone need a bit more rope?

See the dark place had a new pretend moderator invented poster again today, poacher by name, the fools fall for them every time.

Just off topic - but if anybody has a neighbour that has left a cat out - or has abandoned any of their pets for the holidays - please make sure that you report them to the authorities for maltreatment and cruelty ……
It is brass monkeys out there …… but some people are still absolute bastards with animals - and should be hung in a public place if they are guilty of neglect - So do your bit and please don’t turn a blind eye.
And of course …… it goes without saying that if you live in public housing you should report any maltreatment of children - especially if they have been left alone whilst the parents are enjoying themselves at the bottom of their garden!!!
Don’t worry if the neglected children are living in private sector housing and their parents are in good full-time employment - it isn’t worth the Court’s trouble to go up against a decent solicitor or barrister.

Why the Hell am I allowed back on here after all this time?

Stuffed if I know ………. Probably so that you can have your witty banter with the Weirdy Ones.
Maybe they have even been petitioning and praying for you to come back.
I wish this would work for MM.
But alas - I fear it is not to be. Not now or ever or ever. Keela is looking at me with one her sympathetic looks again but Eddie has just groaned and buried his head in an old copy of the elitist and strictly for members only ”Forensic Science Scammers Quarterly.” He’s a hoot! He will be the death of me that doggie.

What no honours for the McCanns. It’s a conspiracy. Why did Sara Payne get one and not the McCanns.
Oh there is no proof Maddie was murdered, (hopefully there never will be).. Damn they won’t ever get one then.
I find it absolutely disgusting that Sara Payne got an MBE. ++edit++
Sod the campaigning, (which will do nothing to help missing children because we don’t have the resources to do the follow ups like they do in the USA with Amber’s Law). ++edit++
Furthermore most of what she is alleged to have achieved was the work of Gorden Brown in his effort to become Prime Minister.
Oh what a lovely caring man, takes time out to help a woman in need.
God I feel sick and I don’t even drink.

(*) Maddie found safe and sound (*)
The child was saved in Egypt, but the Portuguese PJ is not yet convinced
On Tuesday, the world woke up stunned the English girl who had disappeared in Praia da Luz, Lagos, on 3 May 2007, was rescued alive and apparently in good health by a team of special forces of the Egyptian army , which dismantled an international network of human trafficking.
Maddie was one of only 50 people - among children and older women - saved by the authorities, in a property located on the outskirts of Cairo, where the organization kept captive kidnapped persons across Europe.
Informed with the necessary anticipation, Sky News has broadcast live the liberation of Maddie. Immediately thereafter, the entity British protection of minors has interposed a preventive welfare before the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom to prevent the disclosure of images of the child by the tabloids and television

Injustice is injustice agw whatever form it takes, if others are stirred it is because they have over active imaginations, a sad trait amonst many, who choose Madeleine McCann (a contradiction in terms if ever there was one) as their Mastermind subject. They appear to discect every thing about everything and every one, except the predicament of Madeleine, who appears to have become the vehicle to massage these sad cases egos.
and the headline to this piece? It is often forgotten that the very next line in that quotation is:
“You ought to be ashamed of yourself” says it all.

Rasputin : I have to ask.
And your point is?
As I recall it, that piece bit me in the shins within a couple of weeks when two Anorak Moderators decided they had better things to do. The ace Moderator team lost two valuable members and I think I was one of the all-powerful accused of bullying.
Hard not to appear as such as an Administrator. But there you go. Those sort of gibes are better directed at someone with a thinner skin than mine.
I have just re-read the piece and I stand by it. Much of what is stated is even more evident than it was all those months ago.
One small request: if you are to lift such lengthy works it is probably polite to date when they first appeared.
The Moderators here may not like it being reproduced at all. It is a wordy piece . Or are you perchance attempting to stir others into accusations of multi-posting?
