		<description>As a Brit with a great love of the English language, I do tend to get a bit astonished with American spelling. The word "committed" is normally spelt as shown in the above sign. They do not have the "magic e" rule of pronounciation and spelling, so do not double the consonant.
One of the oddest things in the American language is the use of the phrase, "I could not care less". They frequently say, and write in novels, " I could care less", which of course, means the complete opposite to that intended.</description>
