Reuters Deploys Weapons Systems In Arab-Israel Fight

DO you know your weapons in the latest Arab-Israel conflict?

Reuters does. And its editors display their knowledge with captions.

Caption 1: An Israeli F-16 fighter jet flies over the northern Gaza Strip after deploying a weapons system January 3, 2009. Israeli forces bombed the Gaza Strip from the air and sea on Saturday, and desperate residents of the Palestinian enclave sheltered in their homes as the offensive entered a second week.

That looks a lot like a flare, which are used to deflect rocket attacks. Is it a “weapons system” as Reuters says?

An Israeli Apache gunship flies over the northern Gaza Strip after firing a weapons system January 4, 2009.  Israeli soldiers and Palestinian militants battled in Gaza on Sunday after Israeli troops and tanks invaded the coastal enclave in the most serious fighting in the conflict in decades.

Reuters has form, what with “work accidents“. But, then again, Reuters is not alone in such things and Iran has adapted images to fit the agenda. And Hamas is not entirely in the dark. Anyone else see smoke, and more smoke?

Fake pictures and lies exposed, often by bloggers, such as Confederate Yankee,  AllahPundit, Ace of Spades and Dan Riehl.

The rights and wherefores of the violence can be argued, but war has become what the bloggers do best. If anything can be gleaned frtom this latest clonflict it is that the old media is being beaten hands down by individuals with only their own space to fill and no markets to satisfy…
