English Rugby Gets Into Bed With Mills & Boon
You’re looking at the cover of The Prince’s Waitress Wife by Sarah Morgan. Notice anything strange about the cover, which at first glance appears to be a formulaic romantic scene? Yes, it’s the red rose of the RFU, aka England’s rugby-union authority.
It’s the first in a series of ‘International Billionaires’ novels from Mills & Boon to be produced in association with England Rugby. Unlikely bedfellows, eh.
The opening scene details the conception of the titular Prince’s love child. The deed takes place in a hospitality suite at Twickenham during an England international. Classy and not at all contractually conceived by the author.
And when in Rome, the Prince takes his princess (formerly a waitress) to see… no, not the Vatican or the Colosseum but… Italy play England in a Six Nations match. Again, classy.

Oh good Lord, does British rugby need money that badly?
Actually, I did meet a few rugby groupies during my playing career.
Not exactly elegant women as I recall………
