Polk City Man Uses Shop Sign To Fight City Hall

by | 8th, January 2009

“THIS isn’t what I want to be,” says Anthony Herman, owner of Mighty Good Used Cars, as well as an adjoining lube shop and a car wash.

“I don’t want to be the crazy person with the crazy sign out front. … What else am I supposed to do?”

As the Des Moines Register reports, Mr Herman is in dispute with Polk City. He is making his views known by way of the sign outside his car shop that claims Polk City Mayor Gary Heuertz as “a lieing little Nazi turd.”

Another sign declares: “Our mayor and council sure are ass holes.”

Turd is a delicious word; ass less so, and a poor Americanism at that. Says the report:

City leaders say Herman’s messages have drawn complaints from some residents – mostly parents who came across them while transporting small, reading-age children – but insist that the city has no plans to try to interfere with his right to free speech.

Anorak likes this idea and can only hope the council responds in kind, perhaps using signs on the region’s roads to call Mr Herman some choice names. Listen up kids: swearing can be both big and clever if you put your mind to it.

The locals can vote on which of the two parties demands the most respect by dint of their name calling.
Bonus points will be awarded for use of the words Taliban, bollocks, cock-mongrel, wood-shitter, arse, crotch fruit, nincompoop, mammary dandruff, kipper splitting. Fulham handshake and liberal use of f*ck.

Begin…
