Benecio Del Toro On Che Guevara, Cuba’s Batman

BENECIO Del Toro says Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara, was “a warrior” and a super hero:

“We tell stories about Batman, and he was a type of Batman. No one can deny that he was trying to stop man exploiting man. Whether he was successful or not…”

Dunno. Best ask Albert Korda who took that photo of him that hangs on walls and never earned much money from it.

Ask Ron Paul. Says one Paul supporter:

“Che was a terrific laugh and was the foremost children’s entertainer of his generation.”

Batman was fantasy of course. Che was “Castro’s Himmler”.

Says Del Toro:

“Two people who I met learned how to read and write because of him. It was really moving… The most revealing thing was that he (Guevara) was a human being.”
