Hudson New York Plane Crash: Pilot Averted Flight To London
SOME doubt on the plane crash in New York’s Hudson River as the Times leads with “All 155 survive crash” and the Mail counters with the front-page screamer: “All 153 onboard escape.”
The Telegraph reports that the flight was going from New York’s La Guardia airport, to Charlotte, North Carolina. But Anorak has received news that the plane was on course for London.
Says a source:
“When the pilot got the news that plane as going to London he panicked. Last time he went there they lost his luggage and he was forced to survive for 17 hours by offering to sip opened bottles baby milk and Linctus of mothers waiting to pass through customs.”
A spokesman for the US Aviation Authority offers:
“It was only the pilots quick wits that saved passengers the nightmare of being patronised by Emma Thompson. We salute his bravery.”
A well-spoken girl representing Plane Stupid says she hopes the plane sinks.
An investigation is underway…

As a regionalista I can state that Schipol is indeed my London airport of choice.

Well that should be a reasonable suggestion, as Schipol (sic) Amsterdam reckon they are London’s 6 th airport already

OK; so far we have Heathrow, Gatwick, City, Stanstead and Luton so we should organise an Anorak petition for siting London’s 6th airport somewhere that needs it.
How about Sunderland? Excellent train service, skilled staff from the Nissan factory, and the sort of accent that makes you feel a foreigner before you’ve even got on the plane…

GF please do not mention the Thames and airports in the same breath, I live on the Thames Estuary and Boris wants another airport there……and we had all campaigned long and hard for one not to be built.
One consolation though - it would be closed frequently due to fog

The Pilot was quite the Hero!
Was watching TV when it happened and all TV stations immediately switched to live coverage. So many people rushed to help in the rescue of the passengers. One man who saw the passengers being brought in rushed over and took off his jacket in that freezing weather and put it on a wet passenger.
However, it will be interesting to see what some ‘ambulance chasing lawyers’ will come up with to try to convince passengers they really should sue!
