Hefner The 110-Year-Old Lizard Breeds With Karissa and Kristina Shannon

HATS off to Henry Hefner to his pals the 110 year-old New Zealanders and the oldest tuatara to mate at Southland Museum.

Henry squired Mildred (80-ish) in March. In July she laid 11 healthy eggs. This week, all 11 eggs hatched.

Says curator Lindsay Hazley:

“Eleven out of eleven. Bloody brilliant. We had a champagne breakfast to celebrate.”

Henry lives with Mildred and two other females
