The Top 10 Barack Obama Theme Songs

BARACK Obama’s theme music is not “Hail to the Chief” but Sting’s “Desert Rose” or Cole Porter’s “Night and Day”.

Instead of the usual contingent of trumpets, tubas and drums, a single piano player now provides musical interludes before and after the president’s appearance.

Who knew that the President was forever wandering around in a National Lampoon’s sketch, never more than ten feet removed from a marching band? It all explains why the White House toilets are so voluminous and why Bush wore the expression of a majorette wating for her baton to land, and Reegan as if it had just landed on his head. (Majorettes, eh, Bill, Majoretteeeees.) *

To many Americans, this excessive informality suggests a real distaste for “official” or “patriotic” music, not to mention the Marine band that plays it.

Can you be excessively informal? And can the US spare Marines right now?

How about some alternatives? Having teams of mean and women sat at pianos all day less change than return to 1920s cinema. Obama demands more.

Anorak suggests an iPod for every American which when the “Pres” approaches instantly plays their favourite song, so making everyone happy all of the time.

If you can’t think of a song, Obama will supply you with the sound of a baby’s gurgling laughter.

And do not that in these times of belt tightening (not you, America - just tug the elastic waistband in a little), Obama might soon be hailed by the Voice of Darts. Laydeeees and gentalmenn, Barack ‘The Barracks’ Obamahhhhhhh!!!! and a flurry of confetti.
