Jade Goody: Jordan’s Flowers, Kill Her Now, Coleen Rooney And A Secret Ceremony
The Guardian: “Playing to the unhealthy crowd”
Men are notoriously neglectful of health issues, writes Denis Campbell, but a new tie-in with the Premier League could prove the answer
Advertise health screenings at the football.
Health is a female issue, right? A lot of media health coverage certainly gives that impression, the Jade Goody/cervical cancer fascination being a classic case. Men make up 49% of the population but their health issues get only spasmodic attention, at least compared to fertility, pregnancy, childbirth and abortion. And given the widespread male reluctance to discuss their own wellbeing with people in white coats, it’s an area in which the NHS really needs to do much better.
Maybe if they tell everyone about their illness in the match day programme, things would be better…?
Now: “Jordan: I’ll be sending flowers to Jade Goody”
When?
Coleen Rooney: My heart goes out to Jade Goody
“It’s been so sad seeing Jade become more and more ill in the papers,’ she says. “Especially seeing her with her two gorgeous boys. My heart really goes out to her. I think her wedding would have been a lovely thing for her to look forward to, although it must have been a very emotional day.”
Ends.
The Observers (France): “How to make millions: sell your death to the British tabloids”
Nathan Jordan:
“I can only hope that her demise heralds a return to real television programming”
Nathan Jordan created the Facebook group “I hate Jade Goody“. He writes a blog and has posted videos on the Goody phenomenon.
Unfortunately, [Goody's] presence as a celebrity has eclipsed those who have skill in the arts or sport for instance. While I won’t exactly be thrilled when Jade Goody dies, I will be relieved at the blow that is being struck against this cult of ‘being famous for the sake of being famous’. When I did a YouTube video with words to this effect last week, I was astonished at the level of anger it generated, I even received death threats.
Anna Chen:
Yes, we know it was wrong for Jade and her under-educated family to unleash race-fuelled spite at Shilpa Shetty. And it was a joy to see Britons condemning her for her bullying. [But] such was the shock of the whole entertainment machine turning on this stupid but normally amiable woman, with a viciousness usually reserved for murderers and rapists, that it probably triggered her fatal illness. So now it’s terminal and she’s trying to gather as much dosh as possible for those she leaves behind. Who can blame her?
Jade Goody is the distillation of everything this society admires: the worship of money and fame. That is a cancer in itself.
The Exception: “The Strange Case of Jade Goody”
In a way, it’s the perfect conclusion to Jade’s photographed life, and it will bring the public closure in a way far more satisfactory than a private death.
Associated Content: “Jayla Cooper Becomes 9-Year-Old Bride Weeks Before Possible Death”
Is this a Saudi Arabian story?
When people hear of little children getting married, they believe it to be something creepy or wrong. Tales of religious hysteria, abuse or other unsettling things are associated with child marriage. But one story about a child getting married is tragic for completely different reasons.
Inspired by Jade.
9-year-old bride Jayla Cooper was married to her 7-year-old friend in Dallas on Sunday. Jayla Cooper became a 9-year-old-bride because it is one of the last things she can do while alive.
Bournemouth Echo: “Jade the bride was so ’serene’ says her happiness coach”
A local touch for Jade.
Sue, who has three children and lives at West Parley, is a passionate believer in the power of the subconscious mind and how it can shape your destiny…
“I knew Max Clifford and he suggested she contact me because Jade was at a very low point at the time,” she said. “She invited me up to her house for lunch and we got on very well and we started working together from there.”
At Jade’s wedding, Sue found herself rubbing shoulders with household names like Nick Ross and Richard & Judy. “There were some celebrities but it was mainly Jade’s friends and family so it was a very friendly, lovely affair,” adds Sue.
A local celeb is born.
First Post: “How Jade Goody became the new Princess Diana”
Jade Goody and Princess Diana have much in common, not least the psychological roots of their stratospheric popularity. Like Jade, Diana was portrayed as a victim of the press, right up to the ravening presence of the paparazzi at her moment of death. Like Jade, Diana portrayed herself as a victim, in Diana’s case of the royal family.
Everyone wants a piece of Jade Goody cake to take home.

To act all superior about the contradictory nature of some of Jade Goody’s statements just before her death is a bit pathetic. I had a best friend (who was an ex-girlfriend of mine) who died of cancer and when you are as close to the end as Jade was in her last few weeks the doses of morphine and other painkilling agents are such that it’s hard to think straight.
Jade Goody had a crap early life, and then got as lucky as she ever would be - she didn’t even win Big Brother, but she did get herself liked.

IN TIME OF EXTREME PAIN & DARKNESS.
O Father of mercies ,and God of all comfort, have mercy upon me and
comfort me!
Lord increase my patience,or abate any pain.
Blessed Jesus, have mercy on me.
By thy agony and bloody sweat, by thy precious death and sufferings, good
Lord deliver me!
O dear saviour ,heal and help me.
Graciously look upon my afflications.
Pittifully behold the sorrows of my heart.
Mercifully forgive my sins!

The antis don’t ill wish other posters, just rather cynical about those who are involved.
Compassion should cover all comers, not lobbing turds of hatred to those who disagree.

The pro McCanns/Goody profess to be the compassionate ones though.
February 27th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I think that could equally be said of the anti-McCann brigade as well…?

June Says:
It has also been compared to the more vicious pro McCanns style of poster
I’ve noticed the similarities as well June. Both also wish death and destruction on not only the posters of comments they disagree with but their whole families, including children.
And this is supposed to make them look like caring souls is it?

What I as saying is I would be nice to to 999,999 people out of one million. I try not to hate people as life is too short.

Dr Eggman
I think you should ask yourself whether the strain of being nice to one in a million people is telling upon you; perhaps one in a billiion would be easier on the adrenals? Just a kindly thought…

I must confess some scepticism on the medical history of Becky Sharp’s cancer family; if it was that bad the erring genes would have been tracked down and written up by medics dazzled by the distant glow of the Nobel…

I wasn’t totally sure if she was saying that if one’s family members contract cancer, then she hopes it is long and painful? I have every sympathy for her losing her daughter, I’m not a heartless bastard but…. As cynical as I am, I’d never wish death or illness on anyone. Well, 99.9999% of people anyway

Not unnoticed , did you see bluegirls sentiments?

Why are people publishing their gushing tributes here, of all places? Surely The Sun would be a better place? Is Anorak going to collect them all and send them to wherever the inevitable book of condolence will be kept?
Three things in common with most of the pro- Jade postings here and passim
1. Wishing ill health on you or a desire for you to “rot in hell”.
2. A complete lack of punctuation, lots of spelling mistakes and the “X” button being battered.
3. They are the only people ever who know other people who have died.

leave jade alone, the poor girl has had a lot to contend with, and is doing it a lot better than me, and a lot of other people would, in her horrible unforgiving predicament. Jade, you look beautiful in your wedding pics, your boys are SSSSOOOOcute! and I would give my left arm (and I am left handed), to cure you…..I wish I could help you in some way……my family is cursed with cancer too (my gran had breast cancer and then died of lung cancer, her brother has had numerous episodes of bowel cancer, so has her other brother and my great gran had bowel cancer and breast cancer)……oh and i didnt mention that my grannys wee brother died of a brain tumour when he was 16, so I am no stranger to cancer. I hope you are strong for your wee guys and that you go when YOU decide……..when you have finally come to terms with what is going on….. I SALUTE YOU JADE!!!!!!!!! Go ON MY GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

They have worked so hard to build her up, its inevitable they will chip away at the pedestal they have erected.
There will probably be anguished Mothers Day sentiments and then the ‘countdown’ . Possibly an offer of a trip to Switzerland by the tacky side of the media, if the bankers aren’t arrested before then
