Prince Charles Tours His Poem For Global Warming

by | 9th, March 2009

PRINCE Charles says we have “less than 100 months to act” before it is too late to be saved from global warming.

Charles will deliver his message to the people of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil next week in person. He and the Duchess of Cornwall will then move onto Chile, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.

A poem, as read by Himself:

O my Luve’s like a red, red rose,
That’s newly sprung in June:
O my Luve’s like the charter jet
That’s gently brings it home

By boat? All aboard!

It is believed the speech will echo one that he gave in São Paulo at the start of the last recession in 1991, when he warned that it was important to continue to care for the welfare of the planet and that it should not become “a luxury”.

As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.

Till a’ the seas gang dry , my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve !
And fare-thee-weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho’ ’twere ten thousand mile!

Or not…

Ode To A Mistress
