Her spokesman Max Clifford said: “The boys went to see her and she was aware of them for a brief moment or two. She saw them and she smiled. She is unconscious most of the time now. The whole process of her coming home is to die at home with the minimum amount of pain. The more sedation you have, the less you are aware of what’s going on.”
Says Dr Max.
Nobody knows when she’s going to step off, whether it will be five minutes or five days.
How a PR can arrange bookings and sponsorship deals under these conditions, God only knows. Poor Max…

Her spokesman Max Clifford said: “A priest, Father Francis, arrived to hold a little prayer service and blessing, as Jade had wanted. It was a pre-arranged thing.”
Look out for the a prayer on the official tea towel and in adverts for PG Tips. But was this the Last Rites?
Max said: “Fr Francis is known to Jade and her family – she calls him Father Ted. She wanted him to say some prayers and to bless her. Jade sees this as a route for her – through Jesus and religion she has a way of keeping in touch with everybody, with the boys. That’s why they are doing what they are doing.”
So not the Last Rites.

The former Big Brother star, who is suffering from terminal cancer, has been told by doctors that she has just days to live.

SOMETIMES in journalism it is quite easy to get carried away. If a story is playing big in other newspapers and on television, you can get caught up in that wave. The story sort of takes on a tone of its own – it’s not mass hysteria, but perhaps mass hype, and it is part of our job to defend against that and not to fall in to the trap.
Go on…
“In today’s edition (9 March] there appears the headline ‘Woman holds hammer at Goody’s hospital bedside’. Paragraph 1 goes on to change ‘holds’ to ‘armed with’, which suggests presumption of possible intended assault.
“Paragraph 6 elevates the incident to ‘attack’ level, yet your report ends with a police statement that the woman arrested had been released, and that there would be no further action.
“While acknowledging that this falls gratifyingly short of the front page of one of today’s tabloids, which shrieks “Maniac attacks Jade with hammer”, I still feel that it is careless by the standards I expect from The Scotsman.”
Yeah, c’mon Max. What was the make of the hammer?
I think it is fair to say that if any unauthorised person turns up at a hospital bedside carrying a hammer then some questionable motives can be inferred.
Unless it’s the geriatric ward, when anything goes…
It would be safe to assume some element of hostility.
Or DIY?
If the person had been carrying a knife or any other implement whose sole use is as a weapon, then “armed with” is accurate. In these circumstances it is probably unlikely that a hammer is going to be regarded simply as a tool – it is not possible to know exactly what use for the implement the person carrying it had in mind, but carpentry seems unlikely.
But let us not rule it out.

I’m just simply horrified by this site, don’t know why but I feel compelled to comment myself, people slagging others off for spelling and sucklike. Very petty and shallow indeed!
Well I’m going all in and saying that I think it’s great that Jade went public, anyone who can teach others to look after their health by publicly suffering themselves is just truly amazing and making money to secure a future for her children in the process…good on her, every parent wants to provide for their child, ignorance is bliss, but imagine yourself as one of her sons today, making cards especially for today and never actually being able to give them to your Mum as she died during the night, that itself just breaks my heart, anyone with kids can surely feel the heartstrings pulling right now.
Fair play to Jade, for milking the press… not the public, and using her suffering to create awareness, she’s been hated and loved, but I think she was an inspiration and when I met her in a local shop, she was just lovely.
I’m sure her family will find inner strength to cope and they should be proud of all her achievements although a person with such a big personality will leave a huge void. Jade herself no longer has to suffer, but will live on in her boys.

My god what is wrong with this world is there no heart left in people i know there are lots off people that are in the same place jade is right now and there familys are suffering too and im sure they wouldnt want to be in the lime light this was a young lady that didnt have much off a life when she was young and she decided that she didnt want the same thing for her two boys nobody can blame her for what shes doing she is a brave young lady who loves her childen so very much and if she was my daughter i would be very proud of her ..

jade goody has her right to make all this public its not pathetic because she has managed to get the government change the age of cervical screening. so hopefully people who are unfortunate, can catch the disease before its too late like jade. if i was famous and the only way i could get money for my children was to advertise it all i wouldnt think twice about doing it. her kids deserve a good future and im backing her all the way. yh probably all that max clifford is saying isnt all her words but hes there he knows jade very well and is saying what hes seeing. let the poor girl be and her family.

Goody is famous for being famous. A voyeuristic peep show catapulted her to fame and, in a later version of the same genre, despair in a “racial” incident. (I was never convinced of the validity of that particular media storm nor the contrived outrage to Carol Thatcher’s ‘Golliwog’ comment. Both seem to be Political Correctness gone berserk.). What is clear and straightforward is Goody has invited the tabloids to gorge and partake amply and fully in the death-fest she has created.
Not everyone is convinced either by the substance of the last money-making route or the wisdom of her choice. Goody is an an out and out abuser of media power as well as the fallen angel the Red Tops love to shred..
It is an obscene burlesque, a parody of real life as lived by the average majority and a grotesque exaggeration of a process we all eventually have to face …death.
It has little to do with real life or lives and the waling and gnashing of teeth by strangers, who know no more of Jade Goody than a stray starfish would, is bound to cause cynical reaction. Frostbite is one of the consequences of over exposure.
Anorak is right to show how the story is covered. It is not an Anorak debate on Goody. It is the detached view of the presentation of the coverage by others..
I have only two questions.
How many will slit their wrists in grief as flowers are strewn in the path of her cortège?
Will Queen Elizabeth ll abdicate in despair as an introduction to the New Age of puissant public adoration of commoners?

People who have devoted their lives to caring for others or fought for the freedom of this country should have their stories told. But for some unfathomable reason the so called press devote pages to a twerp who thought Cambridge was the capitol of London and resided in the county of East Angular.
All fourteen pages of Goody’s Autobiography describes a worthless life of self indulgence and staggering stupidity. She failed to complete the London marathon saying she didn’t understand what miles where or any system of measurement for that matter. Her training for the event consisted of eating curry and binge drinking.

and famillies.
There is exteme poverty all over the world where children die and suffer on a daily basis.
Take the spotlight of this unfortunate woman and concentrate on the bigger picture.

I have got a huge amount of respect for jade,her family and friends and my heart goes out to them all and the peole who cant say anything nice dont say anything at all and yes i understand all about freedom of speech but how can some people be so heartless this poor women is being so public to raise as much money for her sons future which she has been completely honest about and if any of you have children and you were in that awful position and was given the chance to raise money for your children who you love greatly and are not able to watch grow up would you????? i think so, any human being would….

i agree with julie!! if it was someone close to u that u love dearly you wudnt want people taking the piss. grow up and get a life and think before u all act. its a sad time and since jade has made all this people can get proper checks from a young age. and hopefully stop it before its too late like it is for jade.
