Female Dwarf Rescued By Chihuahua

IN Dolwyddelan, North Wales, Beverley Burkitt, 45, and 3ft 8 inches high is lost in dense woodland. She has dropped her mobile phone. It too is lost.

By way of provisions and company she has Pebbles, a Chihuahua.

Night falls. And Burkitt pulls Pebbles in to keep warm.

Says Beverley:

“Pebbles lay across my legs overnight and kept me warm. I wasn’t too worried because I knew I would be found sooner or later. I’m very thankful to everyone who came out to look for me.”

Says Chris Lloyd, of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue:

“She went for a walk at 10am with her little dog and walked into the forest where she dropped her mobile phone. She realised she was lost and just waited. Luckily it was quite a mild night and she had her dog to keep her warm.”

How long she would have survived, we can only guess at. And whether small woman or little dog would have yielded first to hunger, we can only imagine…
