F1 FAIL! Lewis Hamilton disqualified from Australian Grand Prix
LEWIS Hamilton and his McLaren team has been stripped of his third place in last Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix.
Why? No one seems to know, although the FIA (motor sport’s governing body) said they were excluded “for providing evidence deliberately misleading to the stewards at the hearing on 29 March”.
Once again, the FIA appears to be incapable of leaving it to the drivers to decide the places. Politics is killing F1 - no one wants a grand prix’s result to be decided in the week after it took place. First Jarno Trulli was demoted to fourth place, now he’s back in third and Hamilton has no points. Ridiculous - and there’s still the chance that Jenson Button’s win will be contested in the courts.
Once again, the FIA’s clueless stewards have made a mysterious decision that hurts McLaren and harms Ferrari. Surely Max Mosley and chums don’t have a pro-Ferrari agenda?

It’s all too bloody complicated and I am rapidly losing interest in F1. Shame really, when it’s back on the Beeb. ITV ruin every sport they ever take over AND they seem to have a “curse”. England always seem to do worse when on ITV rather than the Beeb or Sky. Has any one else noticed?

Lewis Hamilton a cheat? I remember where I was when he was announced as the new president of…..Sorry, wrong one!

Hmmm Anorak. The way I read it mcLaren and Hamilton were caught cheating to get Lewis on the podium one way or another.
Trulli had gone from third to 12th because of the fibbies that copped him a 25 second penalty……
Naughty naughty.

Jarno was not demoted to 4th he was given a 25 second penalty and was far lower. The team asked Lewis to move for Jarno (not knowing the yellow flags were out- stipud of them but a mistake), Lewis was not honest and said as I slowed a bit Jarno went past. Teaches him to lie to get an advantage! Serves him right. The McLaren radio broadcasts will have been listened to and the stewards foubnd the oh so queaky clean Lewis to be as filthy as a mud wrestlers porn mag!

It turns out that in the initial stewards enquiry he said that he did not let Trulli past and that he was looking at the safety car rules which flashed up on his steering wheel, hence why he pull over to the left and slowed down. Apparently however they have found out that the safety car rules had been cleared off the drivers steering wheels quite a while before the incident and they now have pit radio confirming the team order and a interview afterwards by the press confirming he moved over because he was told to by the team.
He was lucky he was suspended from racing as this is the advertised penalty for giving false evidence in an enquiry.
It’s strange though that they reinstated Trulli. Although it was the right thing to do, they have always said before that they cannot reverse race penalties after they have been given since this would not have been possible if they had been given the penalty in the race. This could have all sorts of consequences so I think there will be a lot of fall out over this. It will be interesting to see what happens.
