F1 FAIL! Lewis Hamilton disqualified from Australian Grand Prix

by | 2nd, April 2009

LEWIS Hamilton and his McLaren team has been stripped of his third place in last Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix.

Why? No one seems to know, although the FIA (motor sport’s governing body) said they were excluded “for providing evidence deliberately misleading to the stewards at the hearing on 29 March”.

Once again, the FIA appears to be incapable of leaving it to the drivers to decide the places. Politics is killing F1 – no one wants a grand prix’s result to be decided in the week after it took place. First Jarno Trulli was demoted to fourth place, now he’s back in third and Hamilton has no points. Ridiculous – and there’s still the chance that Jenson Button’s win will be contested in the courts.

Once again, the FIA’s clueless stewards have made a mysterious decision that hurts McLaren and harms Ferrari. Surely Max Mosley and chums don’t have a pro-Ferrari agenda?
