All Christians Are Islamophobes Says Children’s Magazine
THIS cartoon is claled Standing Up For What You Believe In, and features in the latest issue of Klic!, the quarterly magazine aimed at 8-to-12-year-olds in care.
It’s published by the Who Cares? Trust – and aims to be “the best ever mag for kids in care”, beating off competition from Playstation Monthly, Readers’ Wives and The Lady.
Who Cares? Trust chief executive Natasha Finlayson explains hthat the boy wearing the cross is not a racist, but not how Muslim girls are always smiling:
“I am a Christian myself, so when a woman called us, I went back and looked at the comic strip from her point of view. I am sorry that she is upset but I don’t share her view. When I saw the cartoon, I didn’t think of that character being a Christian because I saw the cross as ‘bling’, as jewellery. To me it is a cartoon about bullying rather than discrimination or religion.”
Other things the picture tell us:
Mauve is very on trend
Alan Sugar is a Christian (note pointy finger)
Muslim girls ARE allowed out alone
Muslim girls should NOT go out alone
Muslim girls are always smiling
Watch out for nuns
And lots more…
