Mother Allowed To Harvest Dead Son’s Sperm
MARISSA Evans is the mother of 21-year-old Nikolas Evans. She was. Nikolas Evans died after he was attacked in the street in Austin, Texas.
A judge has grated Marissa leave to keep her son’s sperm. No, no as a keepsake.
“I want him to live on. I want to keep a piece of him,” she told the newspaper.
The sperm will be used to produce a grandchild through a surrogate mother.
But would she - if she could -create a clone of her son?
According to court documents, Marissa Evans said her son expressed his desire to have children on numerous occassions and had already picked names for three sons: Hunter, Tod and Van.
Says Marissa Evans:
“I am asking the court to intervene on Nikolas’s behalf to preserve the legacy that he desired.”
The case echoes that of Diane Blood, the woman who had a baby using her dead husband’s sperm, and is now pregnant again.
