Pictures of what Madeleine McCann looks like now are to be revealed on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show.
Oprah Winfrey has reach, but is she big in Portugal, where the child went missing? Remember this?

“AMERICA’S top chat show hosts are locked in a bidding war for an exclusive interview with the parents of Madeleine McCann. Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters have each pledged £1million in an attempt to get them in front of the TV cameras, it emerged yesterday”

Her parents Kate and Gerry will appear on the US programme, which will be broadcast on the weekend of the second anniversary of her disappearance on May 3.
Looks like Oprah won.
Why Oprah?
Some recording for the one hour special has already taken place and more will follow next week at the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington.
Not the British National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, but the US venue. Madeleine McCann was/is British. Do the McCanns believe their daughter is in the US? Anyone who has ever encountered US Customs will marvel at the audacity of smuggling such a high-profile child past them.

Washington has featured in the McCann story before:
* A source, said to be close to the McCanns, tells the Express that Beckett even broke off “important” calls to Washington to telephone Kate and Gerry.
* Gerry McCann is in Washington. He is in the White House meeting staff in the employ of First Lady Barbra Bush.
* In summer 2007, Gerry McCann met US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in Washington to discuss efforts to tackle child abduction.
Now:
The US charity, have produced the images of how Madeleine would look two years on from her 2007 disappearance at an Algarve holiday apartment.
The “age progression” pictures show her as they believe she looks now, aged five. The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said:
“Kate and Gerry have seen the pictures and they are extremely pleased with them. They would not be doing this if they didn’t think these pictures genuinely showed how their missing daughter would look today.
“The Oprah show is seen by millions in the United States and worldwide and they hope these age progressed pictures will lead to the crucial sighting which will bring their daughter home.”
True enough, Orpah is the global brand. But is Oprah interested in the child or the parents? Is this not just another reason to gawp at the McCanns? Do people tune in to help or to stare, to play armchair detective, or to enjoy the mourn porn of another’s suffering and feel connected to it?
Does the grandstanding matter so long as there is chance it can help find the child?
Oprah has been asking Kate and Gerry to appear since Madeleine vanished. They felt it inappropriate while they continued to be suspects in her disappearance.
The McCanns are no longer suspects. They are innocent. And their child - after two years of news and sensation - remains missing…

I’m Shocked… How can Oprah get involved with this two on their circus. Most public in Europe, specially in Portugal, UK, Spain, France… dont believe they are innocent because they dont help the police investigation, they refuse a police reconstruction of the night, they get VIP people and top politics from Portugal and Uk involved just to make pressures at investigation and spin what is knowing now, fabricated sights of Madeleine im Morroccos, Spain, Brazil,etc.
Mods: Believe they are innocent? They are innocent.
I hope Oprah did a properly recherche on this case before blinding fall on the story of this neglect parents. The case in Portugal is note closed, is shelved with a stamp saying that the child is dead and somebody hide her body. Can be reopenned any time and will be one day when the politics let the police do what needs to be done..
On top of that we should not forget that more then half of the employees from Ocean Club ( The Resort from which she disappeared) loose their jobs because of all the Media circus created by the Mccann’s. I hope that this talk show is not another Pro-Mccann’s programe with questions and answers previously approved by them. A Spannish Tv channel commited already this mistake and loose now the credibility of the public. The Mccann’s have this power: they ruin reverything they touch, Oprah must be clever and attentive with this two. Showing a picture of Madeleine aged six and wearing a t-shirt is morbid and will give the public a bad taste because for the police and I speak about a big police team( Portuguese and UK police with help of europol and interpol in many times) the girl is dead. I know the Algarve and the village from where Maddie disappeared. Is a small family and friendly place, not a massive touristic place. Since the beginning the abduction theory looks strange for me. How can somebody mark a girl which just arrive and take her without leaving any trace? Must be a ghost…

The McCanns are no longer OFFICIAL suspects. They are LEGALLY PRESUMED TO BE innocent FOR THE MOMENT. And their child - after two years of news and sensation - remains missing…OR TO BE MORE BLUNT, REMAINS DEAD.
Or possibly you meant to say, “Her remains are missing.”

Workers who have been sacked at the resort from where Madeleine disappeared this week confirmed they were seeking the services of a labour lawyer.
Their intention, according to the Thursday edition of Correio da Manhã, is to file for damages based on the fact that “lies told by Kate and Gerry” have destroyed the resort and as a direct consequence, resulted in their job losses.

I CANNOT SEE HOW THEY CAN SAY HOW MADELEINE WOULD BE LOOKING RIGHT NOW. MY CHILD IS 2 DAYS YOUNGER THAN MADDIE, SHE STILL LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME ONLY HER HAIR IS LONGER AND SHE IS TALLER THAN SHE WAS 2 YEARS AGO BUT THE FACE DID NOT CHANGE AT ALL. I WISH THEY CAN SEND OUT THOSE PICTURES RIGHT NOW AND NOT ONLY ON TV IN OPRAH`S SHOW.

As a portuguese citizen (and truly believe I’m speaking for the majority portuguese population and some britishes) I do believe Mcann’s are guilty! Not only for leaving their childrens alone while they went to have dinner but.. and that’s Amaral’s opinion
If it was an accident they should come up with it and stop that bull sh*t circus they’ve put on.
Can Oprah get something fom they that maybe thousands of people including police officers coudn’t??

I don’t get why they’re still chasing publicity.
It would be more productive to track down any child molester who was anywhere near PDL on the night MM went missing… and to do that they need to cooperate with the PJs and Interpol and any other official agency that can help… none of whom are Oprah.
