You are so right! I honestly don’t understand how some people have no feelings of compassion for the McCanns and also continue to uphold some sort of wicked hate campaign against them. I’m sure they would stone them both dead given a chance, they seem so ‘mob’ like with their words, they don’t seem to comprehend that they are suffering already! How can someone hate another person so much, especially those that are suffering as much as the McCanns are. The insinuations that they were somehow involved is completely reprehensible.

I’ve always wondered how Kate knew immediately that Madeleine had been abducted. She said she couldn’t say because of the secrecy laws when she was an Arguida. I haven’t seen any explanation since then.

its not a Kate and Gerry fan club, its about 3 small children who were left alone by negligent parents, if you see me as cold and compassionless then YOU have the problem. They are meant to be protectors of their children, THEY failed them.
I don’t do idolatry, clearly you do….think of the child, possibly raped and tortured, scared and hungry definitely.

What is interesting to me, Karen, and may be to you, is everyone says it is about Madeleine, a young child missing, and no one is talking/thinking about her. How can one? People are consummed with condemning the parents with ugly words; ugly insinuations; and they keep everyone, including themselves, focused on the parents. Every step those parents have taken to keep their missing child in the public’s eye, with hopes that someone who knows something will come forward, has been ridiculed, ugly insinuations made and imo deliberately misinterpreted to put them in a bad light!

Yes, through a totally irresponsible act of neglect, with no thought of the horrible consequences, they left their children alone. They left them alone, it can’t be undone! Now, why can’t people respect the grief and torment they are going through, and will have to live with the rest of their lives, and just stand back and let them alone.

I fear you will be seen as heartless and lacking in compassion because your words seem cruel and somehow bitter, i don’t understand you. Furthermore, I certainly do not see Madeleine as some public possession but I do feel sad for her parents as much as my heart aches when I think about what could have happened to Madeleine. Do you have children or any idea about the loss of a child? The McCanns are living in torment and hell each day and people like you stoke the fires, can you not see that?

People are compassionate, towards Madeleine. Strange you mention her once only, why? is she just a possession to be returned, not a sentient being?
Her parents had choices, and they are still alive and kicking, Madeleine may not be.
They may very well regret their actions.

It is Madeleine who matters.

I remember one interview where Kate was described as hoping that Madeleine was not cold. KAte was in Portugal in July at this stage - a place and time where it’s actually difficult to imagine being cold at all. I think as a Mum I would be more concerned that, if she had been taken, she was in a hot place, and might de-hydrate and be hot and thirsty, or sunburnt.

Kate’s comment reminded me of my friend, after her baby died and was buried, being consumed with the notion that the little one would be cold, as she had been buried in a summer dress in the summertime. My friend used to say “I k now it’s silly, but I keep thinking it must be so cold down there, under the ground…”

The question is does she actually KNOW that Madeleine is dead. If Madeleine is dead, then what happened that evening?

Is David Payne’s visit at 7, whether it was 30 seconds or 30 minutes, as variously described by Kate and Gerry, relevant?

Did something happen earlier in the evening, and was her body hidden in the wardrobe until being moved later, after they had eaten their meal and were all “bobbibg up and down” to check the kids,when an absence would be less conspicuous?
