Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann’s Coma Nightmare

kate-mccann-tearsMADELEINE McCann Watch: In which Kate McCann cries for Oprah’s fans…

TWO years of Madeleine McCann news and the Daily Mirror delivers this front-page headline:

“I wish I was in a coma”

This is “Sobbing Kate” McCann. This is “Haunted Kate McCann”.

We are here to watch Kate McCann’s pain. We are watching the parents and gawping at their grief. This is every parent’s worst nightmare on prime-time telly.

Asked by Oprah if she has ever thought of giving up, she said: “I think even if you wanted that – and there are days where you just want to get under the duvet or just want to be in a coma until it’s over just to relieve the pain – you can’t.

“I don’t think we’ll ever get a day where we feel we’ve done everything. I don’t think any parent could, even if you were thinking, ‘I need a rest’.”

So much for the hunt for Our Maddie. What of the facts?

Kate confessed she drew strength from her anger when she and her heart consultant husband Gerry, 40, were suspected by Portuguese police of being involved in Madeleine’s disappearance.

Such are the facts. Although in the Sunday People, Gerry McCann is a “brain specialist“.

Such are the facts.

The Mail looks for Our Maddie – but just sees Kate McCann:

Kate McCann: ‘There are days since Madeleine vanished when I just wish I was in a coma’

The Scotsman sees Kate MCann. And, more vitally, the Mail sees Kate McCann crying:

Mrs McCann choked back tears as they watched footage of Madeleine…

During a section filmed at the family home in Leicestershire, Mrs McCann broke into tears as she showed pictures drawn by Madeleine that she could not bring herself to remove from a refrigerator.

Struggling to hold back tears Mrs McCann added: “She was just really good company, you know. She was just like my little friend, sort of, all the time.”

Bring the tissues. Are we looking for Our Maddie?

Mrs McCann said: “Just when you think things can’t get any worse… it suddenly dawned on me that they weren’t looking for Madeleine and they weren’t looking for the abductor.”

No, they were watching the parents.

In the Sun:

Kate McCann: There can be no greater pain than this

And on the BBC:

Mrs McCann also said she was told not to show emotion when appealing for her return, “because the abductor could get some kind of… kick out of it”.

A kick out of someone’s pain.. What sickos would see a woman’s tears as entertainment..?
