That was some of the discussion over the laptop, as far as I recall it was requested it was handed over, but I cannot recall exactly when the McCanns did. Although no doubt as arguidos , they had no choice.
But as you suggest someone else may have been using it anyway, and there is no proof either way.

It was well known that Gerry had his laptop with him, he also designed the ‘missing’ posters on it.

Even if items are deleted its well known that forensics or any other determined body could search the harddrive, unless it was destroyed

Petermac, you have a point there but….what computer in the apartment? Did the resort have a computer in every guest room or did the McCann’s bring a lap-top? Surely if there was a computer in the guest room private or owned by resort those jokes for boys in blue would have had the hard drive and history checked on the computer, if they suspected a possible crime?

What makes you so certain beyond a doubt that picture was played around with? Why are you so certain that if it was that Gerry did it? Couldn’t have a well-meaning friend who saw the original picture you claim was played around with and noticed maybe Maddie wasn’t in it and offered to add her picture to it?

It all boils down to this: if in fact the picture was played with, where is the irrefutable proof the picture was? If so, where is the proof Gerry McCann did it? A statement is made saying the picture was played around with and that he did it, now where are the irrefutable proof to back up that claim?

Precisely. So why did they do it. The proof is right in front of Kate.
Stevo had a lot to say about it a year or so ago.
One or other has been tampered with. And it is obvious that we are not looking at a shrine exclusive to M, because other photos include the twins. What better way for a father to remember his last day with his daughter than a photo of them all together.
So what has happened and WHY ?
Will no one ask Gerry why he did this? Why did they spend the time in the apartment messing around with photos instead of actually looking for their ‘missing’ daughter.
The more they try to convince the world of their innocence, the deeper they dig the hole they are one day going to fall into.

Yes, I remember that Stevo did a lot of work on the photos.
As you say - there was no great need to photoshop anything ….. So why did they? The proof that they have done is there in front of her.
Other photos have the other children, so it is not an exclusive shrine. And what better way to remember a ?deceased? daughter than in a lovely setting with her father and siblings. But no. Something else happened, and she was either cropped out, or added in.
Will no one actually ask Gerry why he did that ? Why he sat around playing with the computer in the apartment when everyone else in the resort and the surrounding area was out looking for his daughter.
Why, Gerry, was it so important to play around with that photo.

the image of M alone doesn’t look cropped because there seems to be a lot of background to her right. In the group version they are all sitting close together and Gerrys elbow and Amalie are very close to Madeleine. To get rid of Gerry and Amalie out of the picture by cropping would have left M right at the edge of the picture but she has lots of background behind her at her right hand side. I thought all the fuss about the last picture was a bit mad until I saw the photo of M by herself in the video and then I thought one of them must have been photoshopped.

the easiest way to remove G&A would be to simply crop the photo, if only a news journal (even a satirical one) had the will and technology to establish whether the images of M are identical. Do I remember correctly that the poolside photo was the only proof that M was alive that day?

I’ve seen that photo too (the one by herselft) its on one of the Christmas appeal videos. Either Gerry & Amalie were photoshopped out of that one or Maddie was photoshopped into the other one.

Re Channel 4
Did anyone notice the photo just to the right of Kate’s computer? Have a look on 4od @ 19:29. There was (if memory serves me well) alot of discussion as to whether Madeleine had been photoshopped into the poolside photo. I can’t see any difference between M sitting at the pool with G and sibling and M sitting alone.
