MODEL DANIELLE LLOYD nearly lost a leg after crashing through a glass table in a drunken brawl, it was revealed yesterday.

Surgeons told the terrified WAG they had feared they might have to amputate the limb because of the amount of blood loss.

Danielle, 25, underwent emergency surgery on her left calf and needed 20 stitches in a gaping wound in her back after the nightclub rumpus.

And now we bring you the choicest cut, as it were, our editor’s cousin uses a stitch just in time:

And Elliot Sorene, a consultant in trauma and orthopedic surgery, said: “I treated Miss Lloyd for a deep laceration to her left calf.

“Whilst the whole experience for Miss Lloyd was exceptionally unfortunate, she is very lucky that the major blood vessels and arteries were not involved, otherwise she would have been left permanently paralysed.”

As for the details of the fight, we cannot comment. It is a police matter.

But we will contact Elliot and attempt to secure evidence of the consultation and treatment, possibly to auction off for a charity of Old Mr Anorak’s choosing…
