cricket-deathSOUTH African cricketer Jacques Rudolph is introducing the sport of pigeon shooting – a blood sport – to a Twenty20 match.

Cricket is always looking at ways to make it more marketable and having the players use the ball to take out wildlife is just one option of many:

Other inovative cricket moves:

Darts Cricket – The batsman’s helmet features a target. Hit the centre gold disc and win big points.

Polo Cricket – Bowlers on horseback

Snooker Cricket – Alleviate the pain of missing that run out by seeing the ball roll into one of six holes by the wicket

Football Cricket – Football in trousers

Says the pundit:

“The ball’s hit a pigeon, and the pigeon is no more. Jacques Rudolph is the man with the pigeon’s blood on his hands here.

“Rudolph did the fielding, he gets the ball in the air, and with about as much accuracy as a patriot missile he downs the incoming pigeon. Poor old pigeon.”
