Amy Winehouse Drinks Herself Blind
WE interrupt this transmission of Amy Winehouse’s residency in a St Lucia bar to bring news of Amy Winehouse’s “concerned mother”, who has “has opened up about her daughter’s battle with addiction” on a TV show.
Says Janis Winehouse, for it is she:
“The need to rescue her is enormous. I just want her to be okay and I would do whatever it took to make that right.”
Well, talking about Amy’s condition to tabloid telly should relieve the pressure and make her want to come home.
“Amy is in denial all the time. She probably feels trapped, her body is trapping her.”
Looking at that body, the inner Winehouse is unable to punch her way out of a paper bag. Can she make it?
Mitch Winehouse, the daddy Winehouse, wonders:
“For the last six months there’s been a remarkable recovery!”
Well, not remarkable, more…
“A gradual recovery…”
Not as good..?
“Which is good. With slight backward steps - not drug backward steps, more drink backward steps if you follow my drift. I think that will be the pattern of recovery.”
But why do we need to know this? Why are the Winehouse Parents on the telly talking about their daughter’s ishoos, which play on loop, unable to move on. Winehouse Industries, the one hit wonder hammering over and over and over and over about the drugs, always the drugzzzzz.
Don’t they realise that one thing we like about Amy Winehouse is that in the Petri dish of talentless window lickers, where the likes of Kerry Katona and Katie Price reveal their angst, tattoos and primary sexual characteristics to us every week to make themselves appear interesting, where even cancer becomes a marketing tool to keep the brand alive, Winehouse just gets on with her stuff.
That this stuff is drinking and drugs is no small shame – but why are we so encouraged to stare? If she release a great record, would we care what she gets up to in what passes for her private life..?
Note: St. Lucia. is the patron saint of the blind.

Well they have told us, too loud and too often.
Perhaps if they spoke to Amy directly and quietly….but probably difficult with the mikes and cameras in the way

I think the parents are doing what they think is best, rightly or wrongly and now trying shock tactics to persuade Amy to take it seriously before her liver packs in…
unfortunately, I think the only thing that will have any effect on her is when the doors start closing…. but there again, in her current state, that might well have the effect of tipping her over the edge.
either way, the future sure doesn’t look orange…..

On one level I agree with you percy, but exactly what good does it do Amy to have her parents shouting off to the papers about here every few days? It must surely make matters worse to have mum and dad each detailing your ‘downward spiral’ to a different mag?
Think about all the ‘pop’ excesses of the 60’s/70’s. Did Marianne Fathfull’s mother go to the papers?
Think of all the ones that went into the pit and then resurfaced withut us knowing. If she was my daughter (and I have two, daughter and step daughter, the same age) then I would do everything possible to help. But I wouldn’t blab about it to any passing journo and I wouldn’t be living in the Caribbean at her expense I’m sure.
Many have been where she is and survived without the whole world knowing. Maybe she could have without her publicity crazy parents. IMO of course!!

Methinks you are being a bit harsh on the Aymee Swinemouth’s Family, C&C.
The parents are the first that should have their say on Aymee’s state of play….
I am sure they love their daughter deeply and only wish to see her happy…..which unfortunately she does’nt seem to be….
Being a parent is never easy…….

Yep. The parents again. Guess they’ve been taking leeching lesson from Britney Spears family.
