Iran Parades Arrested Journalists On TV

by | 26th, June 2009

iran-nazisIN Iran, the journalists are being rounded up. Reporters Without Borders today “condemned a parade of Iranian demonstrators being shown on a loop on state-run TV confessing to having protested at the behest of foreign media”.

Sound odd to you?

All demonstrators make their confessions using the same words that have opened the nightly news bulletin for the past week: “Bismillah, al-rahman al-rahim. I admit that I demonstrated under the influence of the BBC, the radio Voice of America and other foreign media”.

As RWB reports:

The confessions are aired at every hour of the day and night to show Iranians the extent to which those disputing the presidential election were persuaded by western agents to take part in an “orchestrated plot” against the Islamic Republic of Iran, confirming the words of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“These methods are aimed at denigrating foreign media, who are already facing huge obstacles to their work and whose journalists and contributors are exposed as a result to the threat of violence from supporters of the regime,” the worldwide press freedom organisation said.

This would be the same Iran that runs Press TV, “the first Iranian international news network, broadcasting in English on a round-the-clock basis”.

The Iran propoganda machine whose slogan reads:

Press TV. Giving a voice to the voiceless. 24/7. News. Truth. The World is changing. People are changing. Opinions are changing. The News is changing.  Why do you still watch the same tired news channel? GET THE FULL STORY AT PRESS TV.”

If it wasn’t so revolting it would be laughable. Says Press TV:

In line with foreign media attempts to disrupt post-election stability in Iran, CNN has broadcast a false report which contradicts footage obtained by Press TV.

As someone said on Press TV:

I’m laughing at you, George, I’m laughing…”

“I’m laughing at you, George… I’m laughing…”
