We have not one, but three pages on one of our websites, with information, opinion, and advice about the “rare” 20 pence error coins, and right now I feel a fourth page coming on.
Our pages should provide definitive answers to most of the questions about these coins. (They might also spoil some of the fun!).

An ebaying colleague was telling me about all these coins for sale and loads of them are just normal 20p pieces. I know they’re being greedy but I’m just too soft and feel sorry for the people about to be duped.

BTW, do you have any of those bank notes left?

In case anyone is about to get caught out on ebay (it seems some sellers are advertising coins with the date on the other side as if they’re worth something) here’s a link to a site that makes it easy to spot if your coin is worth anything more than 20p

Since the announcement this morning there are alread 33 of these coins for sale on Ebay ranging from £250 buy it now (optimist) to £4.09 (realist)

I have some £500 notes which were accidently printed at the Royal Mint in orange ink with ‘Monopoly’ on them instead of Bank of England. I am prepared to let Anorak readers have a limited supply at face value
